The SLR is ready to be driven. I just nedd to run the engine in for at least 500miles before tracking it on Thu.

I think a full day at KH would become a bit boring after the first couple of hours! Half day , or two hour sessions are more than enough there, much as I love Knockhill!!

Actually it was a really good session, apart from the weather - but it was KH after all. The day went by real quick and I could have done with a few more hours (except that I'd burned all 80 litres of fuel I had taken up  ) The morning session ended around 12:30 for lunch, so a little shorter than the typical 9:00-13:00 session so folks were still well up for more at that point. Then a proper sit-down lunch, which made a change. Back on track by maybe 13:30 and 17:00 came all to soon. Then a wee prizegiving of sorts, freebies, googie bags and very nice photos of cars and drivers.

The track was slippier than a slippery thing, especially after an oil spill, then suddenly dried and got grippy in the last hour. Different mix of cars (not a single Lotus IIRC) and despite the weather and real slidey track not a single stoppage for folks spinning/falling off. In fairness I only went because I had an invite from one of the sponsors, but having done that one I'd most certainly do another if it was the same format. With the goodie-bags, food, got my car polished for free, very nice free framed photos of your car etc., it was more than just a half-day session x 2. Also a very good day for track-day 'guests' in tow; easy to give folks wee hurls, but also leaving time for some solo laps too.

I had fun anyway :D

I've just watched some youtube and it did look like a good day :thumbsup . In the end I decided another wet day would totally shatter my nerves and I really needed to do other things anyway :( .

It was a hitch with my back :damnfunny

I am currently running the brand new VHPD engine in. So far just done 250 miles and up to 5,000 rpm.

I will take it out again today as the weather seems reasonable.
