Had fun today, first time out for while in a car that works(can't really count the TT).
The VX went well, lots of fun once I unplugged the ABS. engine mounts need changeing and I don't think the fan works , so a few minor issues , other than that GREAT. Good to be back

Similar sentiments to above. Really enjoyed it, and the weather played its part.

As everyone else has said, great day and had some good laps with Stu, VX looked pretty twitchy at the back though after I moved over!
Strangely my broken fuel gauge is now working again so I reckon the car was just after a bit of abuse :D
The Carbone Lorraine RC5+ brake pads are bloody good too, probably a bit better than the Pagid RS42s I had on before so I'd recommend them.

Another great day Thanks John.

Jen, hope your dad enjoyed the pax laps, gladly take him out for a spin again. Everyone else that had pax laps (there was a constant stream today) hope they were fun.

Track was in perfect condition with cool air and loads of grip, had a riot knowing I could kill the rear tyres. New tyres fitted by Ronnie, rear pads needed I think and will be set for Spa.

Thanks also to Andy (flip flop) for some fuel at the end after I had run out yet again, I should really take a spare can with me.

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Well, had a cracking day apart from my small off road experience. Less said about that the better! 8)

Nice to finally meet a few people from here, and was pretty chuffed how well the Evora was going.

Some pics I took during the day -

hey

popped along to have a wee look. how busy was knockhill in general today?! took me a while to find a place to park at 12ish!

the cars looked really quick on track, its been a while since ive been along, but you lot definitely seemed faster into the hairpin than i remember!

spotted some folks but didnt say hi, felt weird being in the pitlane, and it was freezing, so went and watched from a less exposed place!

hmmmm, i want - naaah, scratch that - i need to get back into the fold!

Jen and Alan, not seen ur orange s1 before - nice!

Thanks to John and SIDC for an extremely well organised day.

First Track day. Absolutely brilliant. Will never forget that first 'warm up lap'. Nervous excitement at its best.

Thanks to Mass for the laps in the Caterham. Learned a lot. Quick as hell.

Thanks to Greame for listening to all the nervous chatter and demo laps.

Gavin. Hope the tyre marks 'polish out'.

Can now see the requirement for upgraded brakes, tyres, suspension etc.

First off, thanks to John for organising a great day. A super turnout, considering the circumstances!

I'd like to thank Simon A and Mass for taking me out today, and Kenny and Mass for taking my dad out!! He loved it and definitely wants to come back!! Also thanks to Flip Flop, Duggie, Mass and Gareth for taking Heather out! It was her first trackday and she really loved it! She kept talking (more than me-hard to believe but true) about how much she enjoyed it on the way back up the road!!

Graham, I eventually gave up with the roof, as it was a nice day there but we stopped at Peggy Scotts for lunch and it was a bit rainy there so I got my dad to help me. We were fine and toastie when we left funnily enough!! was that you in the lay-by when we passed?

Was good catching up with Martin and Evan in BoD-I tried to give it a bit of noise for you-did you hear it?!!

Good to also meet a few more people and put more faces to names and usernames!!

Apologies if Iv missed anyone out-now been up for almost 22 hours and I'm knackered!!

Jen

Thanks all for a great day.
I think I'm catching the trackday bug :D

Justin - nice pics. Hope the Evora recovers soon.
Jen & Stuart - sorry I didn't get round to taking you out for a few laps. I don't know where the time went (too much socialising, not enough driving  )

I had a good time too, first time out on track in the new car, good way to find out what it can do!

Certainly different from the Porsche, just as much fun, maybe more involving.

Stopped short as the brakes were grumbling - inner pads may be done, just about to go and investigate!

Manage to meet a couple of you guys too! Will catch more the next time I'm sure.

For folks who don't lurk around the Scoobies newsgroup, here's a copy of the links to the in-car footage I just posted up.

I cut out lots of just pounding round an empty (or emptyish) trach and picked bits with lots of other cars.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ll5lE5qNxGE
Scoobys, ELises and 7s, plus both Evoras, BMW, Fiesta?, Evo Clio and more. There's a quiet bit in the middle with an empty track then another group of cars.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQYStpelEHI
Bit quieter at the beginning so cars running a bit quicker, then usual Scoobies and Elises plus VS, Supra (cooling down I think), Scirocco, Fiesta? etc.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5KFlcpZrOQ
More of the usual suspects - Scoobies, Lotuses, 7s etc., plus BMW, MX5, Focus?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6qpOp_taXk
More Scoobs, Elises, 7s plus added Mini, Fiesta?, Focus?, Clio, MX5, 380z and a glimpse of the Atoms.

Apologies if my car identification skills are weak; and there are other cars in there too that I probably haven't picked out.

 This was me when I was told, "Mass is taking you out next, get your helmet on!"

This was me when he dropped me back in the pit lane  Thanks Mass - seriously good fun :thumbsup :thumbsup

And thanks to John and SIDC for a great morning :D
