AUTUMN DN – NORDSCHLEIFE - Sept 19 &20

Post by Andy G » Sun Jan 30, 2022 8:43 pm

Hi Guys

Heading over to the Ring for the annual Autumn Double Header - its usually absolutely tremendous.

https://www.dnevents.com/book-now/

Suspect it will be a Hull to Rotterdam ferry return jaunt as the timings for the boat allow for better travel options.

Its on Monday and Tuesday the 19th & 20th of September, so I\m already in the doghouse as I'm dodging my wedding anniversary to attend :cheers

Booked so far;

1. Robin
2. Ali
3. Graeme A (a fellow Atom owner and not on here yet!)
4. Baz
5. Andy G

Cant remember who else has booked this? Clarkie?

Should be a truely epic trip :cheers

I'm booked with DN. :thumbsup

Newcastle-Amsterdam the preferred ferry though.
DFDS offering 20% discount until 1st March, cheapest crossing is currently £159 return.

Not sure Hull gives any better timing options for this trip as both have to be out on Sat 17th and back Wed 21st? It's only usually an advantage if you can return that night (just do-able from Spa with an early exit but not from the 'Ring).

Newcastle route is actually a shorter drive overall to Nurburg and saves over 2 hours this side.
For me it's the psychologically short drive of 260 miles UK side verses the over 400 mile slog that is Hull...

Not sure about the class of trucker mind you... :sex

Shame they don’t do a one day option. (I know the whole point is it’s a 2 dayer ) but still, I’d have done one day.

Not sure I could afford the fuel for 2 days. The evo only used to get 2 laps before a fill up.

They've got a one day event in May D, but its a long way to go for a day!=.

I was toying on doing it after collecting my Atom and if I could have combined with a Spa/Zandy/Zolder would have been keen.

To be fair it will be the best full you buy all year :damnfunny :thumbsup

What car are you driving Donald? Get yourself a sh*t old Elise - they do 5 laps to a 36l tank (note: they do not do 6 laps :-)).

 Considering this

Have you guys booked ferries and hotels etc???

Its just an idea at the moment, I’m not sure either the M140i or the GR Yaris will stand up to sustained track time, but Robin planted a seed so I thought I’d look into it

I'm sure either would stand up to track time well enough…with you driving though would anything? 😉

Robin has booked the Newcastle ferry for me and him so far. Out on the sat, return wed. Also reserved a house at the Lindner Nürburgring Ferienpark which should have space.

Hi Neil,

I've booked two chalets at some holiday home place - I am not sure who all is sleeping in them - so probably there's a bed in and amongst that lot - I will try to get to grips with that later today.

I have booked geordie express - we actually have a 4 berth cabin on the way out (that's all there was) and I am sure if Ali can put up with my snoring he can put up with your farting :-). I can easily change to a 4 berth on the return journey too, so you would just need a car-only crossing.

Is Graeme trailering the Atom or breaking out a can of 'man-up''? ;)

2 houses and they are 3 bed (minimum) so plenty of room...even with Ape!
