My post was in no way meant as a spelling correction, twas just a gentle nudge to make your deliberations less painful

Nice GTV btw 8)
Thanks (I am too used to the spelling police on piston heads), the GTV coped better than I expected on the track but it is really too heavy and fwd. It is running absolutely superbly now (much better than it was before) so it obviously enjoyed a bit of Italian style driving :D , even the rather smokey brakes seem unscathed. I am erring towards an Elise, particularly after seeing a very nice dark red one outside Tesco in Perth today.

Real mix of pace on track tonight

That Integrale :sheeplove
Hi shoomer,
yes that was me, I think I need to slow down a bit on my in lap and give them a chance to cool. I was drooling over the Integrale as well, what a stunning car.

Big up to the Alfa lads and to RossyBee for getting us some quality track time. Only one red that I noticed.

Got there late due to the road works at the Kincardine bridge so missed the drivers briefing etc - fortunatly it was Iain Forrest who was doing the briefing. "where's passing" - "move offline let faster car past"....there's your sticker :D

First real time in the caterham - I had been up before but in the rain on really old, hard, worn semi slicks (which I now use for autotesting) and using the previous owners molded seat. I was pretty much treating this as my first time out in the car.

I had made a new seat earlier in the week and as soon as I sat in the car to drive it up I knew the seat just wasn't right - too far reclined. First few laps out confirmed this and I just wasn't happy.

Back in to the pits, stick a bit more padding down the back of the seat and jump back in the car - much more up right - not streching for the gearlever or the wheel.

Caterham is a much different beast from the elise - you don't get the grip ramping up the way it does in the elise, you have to be a bit more ragged and throw it into the corners - something that doesn't suit my driving style . So slowly surely drive the car round, working out how this 6 speed box works (S2 works in 2nd & third for the complete circuit) start building a bit more pace, altering lines (it doesn't seem to like being bounced across the kerbs like the S2 does).

Just when I'm getting the hang of the wee car they pull the chequered flag on me. Looking forward to Teeside when I've got a good long stint in the car to continue the driver lessons. It's pretty weird pressing the reset button like that and going back to being a novice driver.

Would have been interesting to see what kind of rough times I was posting yesterday.

In the dry, like last night, I enjoy really taking it by the scruff of the neck - never been a smooth driver, me

I really enjoyed it and was good to meet all the Caterham guys again. :) Was a great tracknight and there was a lot of nice Alfas.

I had a good play with Don a couple of times, super fast evo. And the Red caterham with the silver roadcage.

Car went well after putting the VVC manifold and 52mm throttle body on but the back tyres were pretty knackered, so put them onto the front. Was a really bad idea. Coming into the hairpin I would turn in, go up, round the grandstand and back onto the track. Only second outing tho so still trying to get to know the car. 8)
