guy who pax me when we toodled up the hill climb said he hit some with his 911 when racing. they pulled that one for the touring cars coz of him hitting it.
ok, they want to save the corners - but its rediculously dangerous!

wonder if thats why this sidc is quieter...

Well, let's put some pressure on them. No point just talking about it.
I can understand why they need them for Hot Hatch days but for SIDC...no way! Mostly experienced drivers with expensive cars who dont race the arse off them driving dangerously like the vids we have seen recently of Hot Hatch.

I just think if it's wet, they could be a easy target.

I agree with mac here guys, the tyre barriers that are gonna be in place are not the same ones as the last SIDC day.

In fact, I hardly noticed them at the Hot marques day last month

They wont cause any problems, and if you did hit the ones that are going up then you would be doing something seriously wrong.

I would be more concerned about the marshalling standards.

It's worth mentioning that they aren't in the same locations as the last SIDC day we did.

There was quite a few of us at the September Hot Marques afternoon and I don't recall anyone complaining about them then.

But - hey - it's your cash. If you'd rather do 40% less trackdays by going down south then there's nothing to stop you.

Remember, no one is allowed to use these stupid new corner names, or they are banned for a month.

Real Radio Hairpin, Seat Curves, The Scotsman, John R Weir Chicane. At least we still have Clark's.

I do realise the reason that they would have received money for the re-naming, but it does not mean that we have to use them.

I was just thinking of the last Brunty ( I think) day but if they are nothing like that then it should be fine.

I've never been one to cut on the right hand side of the chicane or clarks. The Scotsman one is the one I'm most concerned about.

Where's Scotsman again?

Is that Mac-In-Tyres (cheers for that one Robin)?

If so it's well before the braking zone and I would class it as part of Duffas. In fact you would need to take the same line though Duffas as Sheddon did at the first BTCC race to him em.

Cheers

I was gutted when they renamed the corners for 2 reasons;

1. The new names are sh*t
2. I'd only just started to learn the old names instead of saying, "you know that corner after the straight..........."

Boycotting the use of the new names also :D

:withstupid

I see what your say mac & dlogan. but TBH ive never seen anyone cut corners at SIDC days or even HM (which aint HM anymore(dont get me started)) so dont think they are necessary. If they are letting drivers on like that at these events then they clearly need to rethink. The whole point of track days is to drive in a safe environment, most people get things wrong occasionally and if i did and damaged my car i would not be a happy. Also their pricing, lack of time keeping and inability to use blue flags properly is what really pi$$es me off.......

when i did the alfa nite a month or so ago they had NO tyres out...

was nice to have that back again.

as said, we are not professional drivers (most of us) and can make mistakes.
so i think its crazy to put these big things on the track.

Can't argue about the pricing/time keeping/ blue flags - but come on there's tyres all the way round the circuit (called a tyre wall) so it's not a new concept.

Ok - some might not be guilty of cutting the corners - some are especially the one at the entry to the chicane.

If there is such a strong feeling against them perhaps having a word on Saturday might help - let's face it, they have capitulated in the past.

Mac

They didn't seem to be slowing you down when you were in Neil's car last time out
