First time about 6k
Second about 3k (Lynda was never invited again  )
 Hides iPad from Kathy.

If I spend that amount, then Kathy will be flying my body into the pool.

So is it £900 plus ferry crossing and fuel - £600??)

How much are we talking all in ?

David
Fuel, ferry (or chunnel), overnight stops, food and drink would be more than £600 I reckon. Double or even triple that figure would be a closer sum to allow for. I would be very impressed if you could do it for £600. Ten fuel stops would be £400 for a start in an Elise. It also depends on how much you like to drink :cheers

I would be interested to hear how much others have spent on previous trips.

Steve.
Sorry - I meant - the £600 figure was for fuel alone....
Two negatives make a positive but only in Scotland do two positives make a negative - 'Aye right.'

Spazz was about £2 - £2.5k but that was with the R8 which is a bit thirstier than an Elise. That's a guestimate because we were already down in Englandshire at Silverstone with Audi prior to the start and finished off at FOS. For Spazz alone it was about that number, roughly £1500 in fuel, then bar bill, food etc.

Yes, indoor skydiving in a wind tunnel.
There's a few options but Milton Keynes is where I've been before.

I'll have a look at it next week and post up a separate thread, see how many people fancy it.

Since we're talking costs, and I don't like doing this, here is a breakdown based on 2011 which was very similar......
  • FF - £900
Fuel Total - £800 - £1000 (Including getting there and back via chunnel)
    Eurotunnel - £100
2 nights digs enroute and back - £100
    French Tolls - £180
Tyres - £640 (for Avons or £500 for AD08’s/R1R’s etc)
    Brake discs - £150
    Pads - £300
Cash for Food and Drink - £600 (100 Euro a day roughly but obviously this is different for everyone)
This totals £3,770 but the easiest thing to do is buy a lot of it as you go along. We have a year to do this, so stock pile spares now.

For the trip starting it should only cost fuel and spending money so £1,600 to take.

The cost difference between the ferry and the Chunnel is negligible if sharing a cabin which keeps the cost down. :thumbsup However it is 711 miles from Ijmuiden to Orange which is a 10.5 hour drive (not including stops) so total drive time using DFDS is 13.5 hours and chunnel is 16 hours; not much in it, and the ferry involves a long overnight sail which extends the time taken somewhat. :?

I went to book my place last night but it wasn't working from the iPad for some reason so I thought I'd do it at work this morning.

Then I saw Steve's post that it's sold out!

The whole LOT site has been down today as well so I'm not sure what the scoop is. There are always from drop-outs anyway so I should be fine.

Chaps this trip is ALWAYS over subscribed so it you are thinking of doing it, get your name on the reserves or get a place - you wont have issues selling it nearer the time if you have to cancel.
