I had a great day today and SE had a large turnout with many coming along to spectate and catch up with others. The track stayed dry today and the rain only came on as we left for home. It was nice to see some of the guys take along their family and I hope that Martin S daughter enjoys herself this afternoon in the single seaters, even though she will probably get a soaking. I had a few good laps driving with Jamie and then Tut in a later session and also took out one of Domincs friends for a pax lap where she seemed to enjoy herself. At least she was not sick, which is more than can be said for my mate Steve, but not my car I may add but it was just after he was taken out in a fellow SE newly required 211  . I had very little fuel left for the last session, so decided to drive back to Drum to refill, but just as I was leaving the car park the gauge indicated empty, so I turned back to the pit lane to use the 5litres which I had purchased earlier, but once I used the small amount of fuel my gauge then showed two bars. I then decided to avoid the drive to Drum and had a few more laps with the traction control switched off and had some fun each lap at the hairpin before returning to the pits and keeping the last few vapours to get me back to the petrol station. Driving standards today were very good and even the KH staff commented on this at the end. Good selection of cars on track today too and also some newbies that had not driven KH before either. The Ferrari 458 Challenge looked and sounded gorgeous :love Thanks also to Simon for the bike rack and Martin S wife Elaine for taking it back to Abz for me.

I will see if I can post my GoPro videos later if I can find time.

Had a great morning in the new toy today after an apprehensive start given the weather and having only picked the car up yesterday I didn't have the chance to check it over but happy to say all went well and I had an absolute blast.
Didn't realize I made your mate sick Steve  apologies for that! Will try to be smoother in future
Still learning the car but enjoying it so far.
Good to see some friendly faces today and as Steve had said, driving standards were best I have seen, never been to a trackday at knockhill before where there were no red flags.
Roll on the good weather now

Given Martins weather predictions we were pretty darn lucky indeed with a dry track. Great day out and delighted to see so many familiar faces, some new ones too. Even Ewan's (who was along for the first time) caterham survived multiple laps of sideways action. Thoroughly enjoyed having Richard also along with me and thanks to those who kindly took him out in their cars too - appreciated.

Steve - totally enjoyed our laps around the track... Had similar with Kinger in his Evora and the Red Elise S (not sure who it was?). My passenger was onboard for them all which made him laugh a little too. Glad some new brake pads went on last month.

Driving standards were really good all round. Lost count of the times I moved out of the way for the Evo monster! Whoooosh! What a noise...

My first track day ever, and first time round Knockhill. Nearly binned it at the end of the home straight as forgot to break for the right hander after the Bridge! Doh - classic newbie knob error but managed to make it round just - and that was lap 2 of the warm-up for christ's sake! Still learning what my Evora can do and did not have the confidence (or the skill or the experience) to push it, but somehow, still managed to pop my osr tyre off the inside of the rim - bloody sh*t myself royally when the huge "bang" went off as I was giving it the full beans up the hill after the hairpin. Thought I'd thrown a piston through the top of the engine!

Hope I didn't get in anyone's way and hope everyone had a great day and all got home safely.

Big Thanks to John for another brilliant SIDC day. :D

And a huge thanks to Craig Moncrieff, he took my S1 up to Knockhill last night so I'd have it on track today, where else would you get service like that. Owe you a beer Craig.

Loved the S1 it is magic on track, brilliant all the way from the top of Dufus to the hairpin but lacks a bit of grunt going up the straight. That said Jemma was giggling for about 5 laps of chasing the Aston, matching it from Dufus to Clark the catching up again at the hair pin only to watch to head off up the straight, catch it at MacIntyre and follow round to hair pin again, and so on, and so on.

Had the Evora out for the last hour, its first time on track. A completely different animal and took a lot of getting used to, for the first half dozen laps I struggled quite a bit as the steering feels so light, and it understeers quite a bit with the TC switched off. Started to get the feel of it and had a few good runs round with Jamie in his Elise SC.

Thanks again John for a great day

Jemma bottled it after the sighting laps, but she was all smiles driving the Evora home. ( Thought that a safer bet with all the standing water and the Elise has AD08's

Please do. I did want to say hello and compliment the driving Swapping and following each other multiple times. Also following you going sideways out of the hairpin with your tyres smoking was great to see. I need to get a GoPro or something similar.

I had a fantastic time, it's a much faster pace than I thought it would be so it took me most of the session to get up to an appropriate speed, I didn't want to wreck the old caterham on my first track day. I need to apologise to everyone about my indicators though, it's all too easy on the 7 to ping the indicators with my hamfisted steering, I may have confused a few of you, thanks to all for your patience. Thanks also for organising, the kids and I always felt entirely safe, my only regret was I didn't find the time to have a go with the instructor, maybe next time.
