Excellent day at KH yesterday, car was running great bar the squeaky brakes!!
Managed a few laps chasing Ali in his 2-11, sure he will mention that the traffic was holding him up or maybe the fact he had a pax, but I have my own set of excuses sitting waiting
Fastest lap was a 59.19s which is at 5min in the video.

Also thanks to tut and Kenny for the drive of there cars, appreciated

(that's why I think Mike will do fine, that and his lack of imagination).

Brilliant day yesterday and apart from my exhaust hanger snapping (thanks for the coat hanger whoever donated that) my car held up pretty well.
I need to check back the video, but I think I managed a 59s lap..

Yeah, shame that fastest one was the only clear run we had through Duffus to Chicane and I had traffic out of the hairpin.
Good vid though.

Like wise, but only with the new rear tyres. Always slowly fell away before when I tried to lap with Ali.
Needed the extra power to catch him on the pit straight though as he was always quicker through and out of the hairpin than me. I was at max though so finally had to pull out when the clutch foot got too sore. No probs with the heart though. Peed off that I wasted the first two hours on the melted rears though, sideways every time through the Hairpin, and at 1100 there was no tread left on them so was screwed even for driving home and packed in. Fortunately Stu reminded me that Ronnie now has his own unit there so got back on at 1200 with new 48R's and the wallet lighter by £365. Probably took half the tread off in the next hour.
Well worth it though, have not enjoyed myself as much at KH for a long time, they just transformed the car. Got in a 57sec near the end on a clear lap which is probably the limit and a good way to go out for the next few month's.
Then had a great run back home with Brian, James and Ali, though he then had to pull out and go straight home. The guys staid with me until the end of the Cabrach, blue skies, no traffic, and Brian must have been on some go faster pills. Knackered when I got home and in bed by 8. Eyes were bad, thinking about goggles in future when at the back, just too much farmers mud on the back roads.
Will get Ian to give N3 a wash tomorrow so that I will have a nice clean car when I start playing silly buggers again.

Thanks again for the track day, great day as usual

Thanks Mark. With it being dry all week before the event, some bits on a steep slope or on top of the tyre wall that are normally a bit slippery were fine. I also climbed on the top of the TV tower at the chicane. It's a plain plywood surface at the top which gets very slippery when it's been wet and it wobbles a bit in high winds. I only took the one lens up there as it's the getting up and through the sprung gate at the top that's the tricky bit without bashing your camera and lenses. Hence a limited choice of angles and why I only stayed up there for a few laps.

Robin, thank you... Think I might keep the coat hanger on the exhaust, the exhaust sits a lot better with little movement.
Went to hospital last night re the foot, it's either septicaemia or gout

got some widespread antibiotics and co-codamol and appointment to go back this week.

Fortunately, Neither my car nor my wheel hit anyone else and I simply scraped to a halt, I still enjoyed the day, thanks as always to all who organise.
Hey euan
Hope you get her sorted 'OK'. I was right behind you and initially I thought that the suspension had just collapsed then I seen the wheel

main thing is you're alright. A shame as I that pace was good enough for me

see you at the next one?
Fantastic to see all the help that folks got by our experts whenever anyone had any issues. If I could be more help, I would but the warm rays when not on track was pretty good.
Nice to meet some new (to me) folks from here and saj, I think you know what your next car purchase is?

Compared to my good foot, it looks pretty swollen....doesn't look as 'infected' today so hopefully the antibiotics are doing the job

i'd had a fairly brutal spin and off on my previous stint, but I did check everything in the pits,(with a kick of my foot). I'd been out again for several laps by then and as you say, had sort of found my pace while at the same time trying not to thrash my newly refitted cylinder head. My young lad reckons he felt something clunk when I slithered round the hairpin, slithering might be slow but it's certainly good fun.
Anyhow, it looks like I sheared the key from the tapered shaft which in turn stripped the threads from the hub nut. I've stripped it all down and I'll need a new hub and half-shaft.

So many thank you's to say. The big guy in the sky for an awesome weather day. John for organising the day. Everyone on track for superb driving standards when I had my brake issue. Bridge of Don Motors for a shot of their jack. Craig for doing hands on repairs, Robin for advice / general brain power and kind offer of his Toyota Previa, Scotty and Danny for use of their tools, Neil for running Eilidh up the road and Kinger for taking me home to Aberdeen via Edinburgh. Awsome cameraderie from a bunch of very selfless people...If I have missed anyone out then apologies....Martin

Thanks again to john for organising and for pictures (just ordered), instructor on hand was nice too. Managed to give sandy a shot half way through, made me feel pretty rubbish but that's the whole point. Did my ARDS with him but moved away and wasn't able to race.
Martin, great to see all the support. Pretty awesome selfless folks here.
I think lotus dominated the garage area
