The lap record in the Pro Class last year was 55.1, next Class was 55.9, they will be under that this year, so we will not be frightening them in the morning.

Just looking at some of the videos of the rounds at Donnie, and in round 1, Steve Gugliemli came 3rd in the Pro Class in his 380hp Audi Elise S1.

Unless it's wet.

Can't see any of the really quick boys being out with us in the morning. That could be dangerous. :?

I would think that something should be said at the drivers briefing about liability with regards to being humped up the but by one of the race cars.

We all have had the "where are the blue flags they talked about" senario.

It should be made clear to the RACE cars that if they were involved in an incident because they did not follow the track day code then any damages would be taken from there flesh so that they will learn the eror of there ways
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....

It's OK guys - apart from one car, all the cars taking part from the Time Attack series are in the "club" class, which means pretty much normal road going cars with a few mods, and all should be expereinced track day attendees as well. To be honest, most of them are of a similar spec to many of the modified EVOs and Imprezas we have taking part on a regular basis anyway, so there shouldn't be any huge shocks. Some of them will be mighty quick in a straight line, but in terms of power to weight ratio, I think that Tut's car could probably show most of them a clean pair of heels!

There will be a special mention at the briefing, to make sure that are made very aware of the etiquette and rules of the event, however, you have to remember that Time Attack series isn't about racing, it's all about finding a suitable gap in the traffic on track, and putting in a fast lap. I'm guessing that most of them will be doing a few laps at a time at most, then coming in to adjust tyre pressures, suspension (if adjustable) etc.

If there is any misbehaving, then we'll deal with it very strictly.

Cheers

John

PS No more movements on the reserve list yet.

If they are anything like some of the quick Scoobies & Evo's last time they will only last a couple of laps before needing to pit and cool down anyway...... Which means less people for me to be in the way of when I spin off at the hairpin (again).

Tyres ? Yes of course. I said something similar to the marshals after they gave me a talking too for spinning two laps in a row. Strangely they seem to be implying that it was not to do with the equipment, but more the way it was being used. Can't imagine what they were thinking.
Hopefully my new sticky tyres will give me enough extra speed to not be over taken by the yellow peril this time out...........

Well, the forecast now seems to be dry - but its KH, so who knows

George, I would be keen to grab a pax in the Atom tomorrow if that is ok- I am the guy with the silver Exige who was chatting to you just after the briefing at the last SIDC day, but managed to miss you all morning.

You are welcome to a pax. Please remind me at the time as I am likely to be preoccupied with a gaggle of nephews & nieces visiting from down south.

Sorry Campbell, but not enough people dropped out to be able to offer you a confirmed slot :( You are currently third in the reserve list. One of the Subaru drivers was looking like he might drop out, but got the car fixed in the end.

Why not come along anyway. enjoy the banter, grab a few pax laps, and you never know what can happen on the morning, as we've had cars drop out in the past.

I know that 4 of the 10 on the reserve list have said they'll be there anyway, just on the off-chance, but you are higher up the reserve list than 3 of them :)

John
