Just got an email from Norfolk Line with a discount for the ferry. Just paid £28 return.
Discount code was EBS.
Out on the sat 26th june 8am and 8pm return on sat 3rd.
Everyone else got theres sorted?

That's a good deal. Nothing sorted yet.
I am not a big fan of the ferry but that price is hard to resist. How long does it take? Is that the one that goes from the old hover port?
I was going to take the tunnel and I think it is about £110 return. Also need to get my finger out and book a pikey lodge for the night before

Think it takes about 2 hours each way.

No I haven't booked the tunnel for FF yet - haven't finalized my plans just yet .... whatever happens I'll be booking one-day returns each way and discarding the unused leg of each journey
Cheers,
Robin

That cheap deal with Norfolk Line doesn't seem to be available now.
Booked with Sea France Dover - Calais return, £50.
Out Sat 26th 08.15hrs
Back Sat 3rd 20.20hrs
Any good ideas for lodging in the Dover area on the Friday let me know.
Last year's "meal in Deal" was a good crack!
Take care,
Frank

I haven't booked the crossing yet either. I think I will do the 2 x same day returns option on the tunnel. I also read on SELOC that you can use £10 of Tesco Clubcard vouchers to get £40 of the tunnel price - shame I don't have a clubcard
I have booked the Premier Inn at Ashford for £49 -that was just last week.

I'm still to book, not sure what date we're coming back yet (will likely stay on for a bit).
Accom needed for Fri 25th then out early doors on Sat 26th, it's a fair treck through France that day. Not sure if chunnel or boating...

I'm going to chunnel, for flexibility with times.
I'll be dragging Uncle Ron that route also - now just need to get him to fix that new shed of his

i'm looking at leaving the van in London after racing at Snett the weekend before then flying down for it on the friday. No accomidation required for me
Ye i would think an early crossing would be good, it's a even longer drive towing

If you're going to break the journey then the Newcastle ferry might look reasonable on the outbound leg, though you would have nearly 600 miles on Saturday, it could be done in about 8 hours if you're lucky with traffic and no squirrel bladders on board, but might easily stretch to 10 hours unless you're prepared for some serious tuts on the autoroute.
The cost of the ferry probably balances the cost of the chunnel plus a hotel room?? They were advertising a 149 deal on TV last night IIRC.
If you're going to Dover, you've got 150 miles less to do on Saturday and you can avoid some potential bottlenecks in Holland, but you've got a long drive through Englandshire on a Friday ... good luck with that.
My preferred strategy is to leave very early on Saturday morning, get a 10:00 chunnel and then keep going on the other side ... but that might be too hard starting from Aberdeen - it's certainly possible starting from Edinburgh (done it a few times now).
Cheers,
Robin

If anyone needs me to take tyres (in exchange for beers) i will be racing at Snetterton the weekend before and can get you a good deal on a set of 48's that I can have in the van
If you need me to take anything else I will need it before the 17th June.
