Hey Guys,

When I saw that truck on track I thought they had sent it out to pull me out of the mud! WTFWTA.

Day was good but slippy (lots of laps, so that's my Shell Fezzie collection complete), I think that the organisers (KH?) have to rethink the Rage's..I know they spoiled the day for at least one GT3 er. You couldnt pass them safely cos you didn't know which way they were going to go next..neither did their drivers...

Big thanks to Ronnie of Wheelsaround who changed out my tyres at the end of the day. Excellent job, great value.

Take care,

Are those Rage buggy's really worth > £10k (as per HM restrictions)?

That Dodge Ram truck thing is massive!

I was going to go up today to take some pic's but slept in!

Another wet and wild day at knockhill. It was a big help having 4wd. Decided to give a my set of well worn toyo 888's a try in the wet. It was great fun.Not much grip, it just drifted everywhere. I agree with cisco about the rage buggys. The black one was not too bad, at least he got out of the way. The red one was a nightmare, he just would not get out of the way. And seeemed to have no idea about racing lines. The marshalls needed to get their asses in gear and get those blue flags waved about At least that would have kept them warm. If knockhill are wanting to stop hot marques from decending into banger racing they need to do something about driving standards. There has always been a great relationship between sidc and se guys letting the faster guys through.Especially with our advantage in the wet. I think the others need to take a leaf out of our book. Knockhill need to make more of an issue of this at the briefing. John does at the sidc days and they seem to be the best behaved track days

Mass - Missed you off track again. Hopefully catch up with you next time. Club racer is looking great

Hi Guys

Have come across those rage buggy's in the past, and they are a PITA.

Still if you want Knockhill to do something about them, you've got to let them know.

Having spoken to a couple of the Kh crew up there in the previous couple of events i've been at this year, they are really wanting to address numpties and anyone that is spoiling track days.

More than one person complaining would probably see them take some sort of action, even if it it just to re-iterate the rules at the next outing, before then taking action for failure to adhere to them.

I think the SE & SIDC conduct as has been previously mentioned is superb, by all parties, and all large part of that is down to the friendly nature of the days and the drivers to each other.

Just my 2p (althogh from the length of this post its more like 5p!) :D

Good idea Andy. I was thinking of sending them an email anyway.

Hopefully a word from the knockhill staff will sort the guys out. Its really down to them to educate the drivers. If not they need to be banned until they get proper cars. Give the guy in the black rage his due, he did always get out of my way. The red one was a different story though. He just ignored everyone around him. His driving was just dangerous. Nearly hit me and belive one of them bumped into another car

I will email KH as well.

Scott, even the black one was blocking me for over 5 laps (I think there were 2 black and 1 red). Only pass it when it lost control coming out of the hairpin, after one lap the session was closed........ what a waste of time.

Hi mass

Being blocked for 5 laps is absoulutely ridiculous. The marshals should be given no warm clothes and some really big blue flags to wave about to keep themselves warm. Im surprised he managed 5 laps before loosing control!!!!! In the wet eveyone can have a ball and go as sideways as they like. These guys where doing it when someone is right behind them. Usually waiting to get passed. Thats how accidents happen.

I usually run through the pits and the back on to the track when the track gets a bit like the m8 on a friday night. Helps keep the frustration levels down

WRT the Rages...after the first session I had a chat with the KH RP who had given the original briefing and in fairness he did pull the driver of the red Rage for some informal advice.

Of course they have a fundamental stability problem in the rain and there is not enough of them for their own day, but a lot of the complaints would go away if the drivers observed normal trackday manners. And that is up to KH to enforce.

After all, It's not a race, (Is it?).... :damnfunny

Take care,

Cisco - I agree completely. These days are just about people having fun and finding thier own limits in thier cars. People can go as fast or slow as they like. Just as long as they are not spoiling anyone elses day. Or even worse endangering thier car.

And of course its never a race.It never is, cos thats not allowed. Especially when you come across someone around a the same pace as you. Even if you have the honor of your marque to protect. . Like many things. As long as its done safely and between consenting adults!

Mass - My mechanic mate is a really usefull guy. He specialises in subaru but works on all kind of rally cars. There is usually some pretty amazing hardware in his garage. He as built my track car up from a standard road car. Everyting is done to perfection. Suppose with WRC cars everything has to be perfect. Every 10th of a second counts
