Re: LOT Croft & KH Track Weekend July 18-20
Plenty of time on my hands Mac, and it is good to be able to help Paul out, he does a hell of a job.
He has been very generous to me, never seems to get around to cashing my cheques, and although he has wanted to come upto KH for some time now, it has always proven too expensive.
There is still eight months to go so it will go on the back burner for a while, but in the meantime if those interested could please put their details into the Database, as there is no commitment and you will not have to make payment until we have to cough up money.
Paul has kindly waived the £30 registration fee to join LOT as a one off for those S_E members who attend one or both of the track days.
I have also offered him the option of his LOT Members putting their details into the Database as an indication of interest from down South. As this is a first for him he will have no idea of the take up. We have a dozen in less than a day so I have no doubt about our numbers, and combined with the Speedfair Weekend, it could be a really good four days.
I doubt if I can get us into KH for free on the Sunday, but I will certainly negotiate half price, and it looks as if we will have our own display area again, and if I can twist his arm, maybe another 20 min Track session.
I realise that a whole day at KH is a bit over the top for us regulars, but as it is at the same rate as a four hour session, it will give us more time to get out as pax or swap cars, with the regular crack in between. If my luck holds as per the past eight years, we may even get the weather as well.
Many of you will not require a Hotel on Sunday night, but for the rest of us I will look into the best bet/deal I can get either from one of the Travelodge/Premier Inn type of which there are three within 5-10 miles of KH, or maybe more preferable as all the Southeners will be staying, one in Edinburgh which would be handy for on the Town afterwards but only a short run to KH on Monday. Even better if they could lay on a BBQ for us as opposed to a sit down meal.
As I say a long time to go yet, so much will be finalised closer to the time. Paul will be putting the event up on his site shortly, so we will look at the best bet for ensuring that we get a confirmed allocation of places dependent on the take up from LOT.
Icing on the cake is that Edinburgh to Croft is only 142 miles, none of it Motorway, so a lot less travelling than we normally have to put up with.

Re: LOT Croft & KH Track Weekend July 18-20
Just heard from Paul, and both dates are now confirmed. However KH price will be slightly higher as he has to add on his own LOT Insurance and cover his Instructors hotels, so that puts on an extra £300.
He is working on 60 cars max for both events, he is about to put the event on live, http://www.lotus-on-track.com/lotshop so in standard practice he will be putting it out for KH at £125 for initial bookings, then a cut off date when it will rise to £140.
Don't worry about booking on line yet, we will sort out the details for S_E later.

Nice one......
For those who are doubting the merit of a full day at Kh, Simon I, Stu and myself done the BaT day a few years back and I don't think I've ever improved so much as you have all the time you need to break down the track into individual corners, perfect your line and then put it all together again.

No, I am not getting involved with the money side as it will all be done through LOT, just as if you were doing two of their track days. It was the arranging of it that Paul wanted me to do so that we could make it happen.
He will be posting it up shortly under UK Events, so you will be able to sign up then. However leave it until I know how he has arranged it for those in S_E who are not members.
Obviously it will be to your benefit to sign up for both at the lower price before the cut off date.
The Database is really to get an idea of the interest from S_E well before the weekend, especially as the Speedfair could be involved again as well. The actual track places are allocated to those who sign up and pay on LOT, if you just sign up and tick "pay by cheque" you will be put on the Reserve List. However you can then keep an eye on the bookings and confirm your place as it fills up. This is not likely to happen for a few months, although he will probably get more than usual as this is a one off for S_E with KH being involved.
