It was a good night. Only one red flag :thumbsup Good to catch up with everyone.

The Kumho V70 is way too soft for the Exige (even the hard compound ones). They work so well on SLR but not so on the Loti (too heavy). Won't be recommending them to Exige owners. Back to 048s or try the 888s as recommended by Kenny.

The guy in the other orange Exige was Nige. It was interesting following you Neil. Impressive corner speeds. Will chat the next time. I was mostly on track and did about 80 laps this evening.

:cheers

Once again a reminder from McApe that I have a very long way to go before I am in any way a half decent driver. Despite some comedy oversteer due to questionable rear tyre pressures Neil was still throwing his shed around the track way quicker than I ever could. Awesome stuff.

if it wasnt for my suicidal tyre pressures, i was going to give you a shot of it, to see the difference between it and your car. I reckon the weight difference and nitrons accounts for alot of it, your not that for off my pace i reckon kenny. As i said once before, fastest S2 exige driver i have sat beside. :thumbsup

oh, the red flag was because there was a screwdriver sitting in the middle of the track as you exited the hairpin. I saw it, pulled in to tell the marshalls, they said they were going to run out and grab it with the track live, so i went back out. Did half a lap before they changed there minds, and threw out the red flag. As everbody slowed right down, andthere was nobody behind me, i opened the door as i drove past it, reached out and picked it up and drove in. Was expecting to get a row, but the guy was glad he didnt have to run down and collect it

Would have been interesting, I would have probably just broken it  When out with Mass later he takes the same approach and line through the chicane as me which does seem to be the fastest way through for the Exige. I may not be that far away in overall times but ability wise the last few tenths of time in corners are probably the hardest to find. I think you are right about needing tracktime on some big wide circuits.

I was one of the Orange Exige S2 owners, pleased to meet and chat to you guys.

I have some good footage from last night. Some with camera mounted on the front of the car and some with it mounted on the rear with Mass following me. This one looks especially good!

Had another set of footage with the camera mounted on the drivers window, however, I forgot to change the settings from photo to film mode

Will post them up as soon as I can. Having problems downloading onto youtube so might need some help.

Was nice to have a dry track for a change, shame I ran the tyres at too high a pressure

kinger, you didnt hold me up mate. Didnt see you all that much, so you must have been going a good pace, and when i did see you, you let me passed. Thats all everybody wants on track, so i was happy. You looked confident out there, guessing it wasnt your first time?

Nige, i was behind you for a bit in a silver S2 135R. I waved when i spotted the camera :D think it was just after mass on the footage.

Mass, i've got to maximise the corner speeds, my car has no power compared to most. Its still fun though, you have to try much harder.

Kenny. Thinking about the line through the chicane, as you start from the left of the track, i take it you dont turn left at all, and you end up over the right kerb on the right apex? I think i do the line i do for mechanical sympathy, as i stay on the flat kerb. If i took your line, i would be much straighter and faster, but i'd hit the hole in the grasscrete with the front right wheel, which cant be good for bushes, bearings or anything else for that matter

I've found a photo of the line through the chicane (by David),

Kenny, the laps I was doing when you were in the CR were mostly low 62 seconds, so roughly the same as when I was in yours. On my own, the best lap on the performance box was 61.20 which is slower than the 048 times but the lap wasn't all that hot.

Neil, it'd be good to pax in yours the next time.

Kinger, I thought you were driving well and very aware of the actions behind you :thumbsup

Pretty much that, although I have to turn left a wee bit or I'll plough through the tyres which means a dab on the brakes on the way up the hill whereas you were further right on approach with a wee feather of the brakes over the crest. My line taking kerb, grasscrete and whatever scenery the tyre wall allows does create quite a bang on landing at the exit.
Your way still felt faster though.

and it always feels faster as a pax. Sounds like you need some "shed" time Kenny :thumbsup
