OK, well I've booked onto the March 18th Spa day with LoT. Haven't made any other plans yet, but will probably drive out on Thursday 17th, stay in a hotel at the circuit, then return only as far as South London on the way back as I'm going to visit my parents/inlaws over that weekend, coming home Sunday afternoon I guess.

Cheers,
Robin

Excellent - :D

Yep; still in the schmoke, in the same flat in Docklands, so happy to meet wherever suits - If time's of the essence, I could take your car down to Katie's folks for you, when I travel down on the 6th? (Would allow you to fly down 10 days later?)

Otherwise, more than happy to meet at Upminster / Folkstone.

OK,

I have booked a twin room at francorchamps-racing-hotel.be - not the most salubrious but nice and easy :-)

It would be nice to arrive by 19:00 or so - that way there's time for a bit of grub as well as a beer.

Working backwards, if we allow 4 hours or so from Calais then 2 hours for the crossing (that's 1 hour plus 1 hour timezone) then we're looking for a crossing at 12:00.

Picking you up at Folkestone worked fine last time and makes the timing a bit more flexible for me, so happy to do that again if it works for you?

Cheers,
Robin

That all sounds fine by me - Folkestone it is, then. :thumbsup

Looking forward to catching up - Last time might well have been Spa in late '09?!

I have been having a look, did not realise that it was on a friday, which is better.

I was thinking about the ferry from Newcastle on wed at 5pm, overnight , and a few beers, arrive 9 am which gives a nice easy days drive to spa, overnight at La Source, few beers, trackday, back to hotel, another few beers, up for breakfast, easy drive back on Sat for crossing , depart 5.30 pm and back into Newcastle at 9.30 Sunday

Cost for ferry £440.00 for 2 cars, and twin room
Cost for hotel 280 eu for 2 nights twin room

Any one fancy a wee blast at Spa??

Good options, Stu, but boring as it may seem, I have my sights trained a little lower for this year...on Oulton, to be precise!

Hope you pull it off though...a re-match with Spa would surely be great fun!

Wow, that would be cool!

There are some LoT days at OP this year...from Robin's list above:

Spa Francorchamps - Fri 18th March - from £180
Spa Francorchamps - Mon 4th April - £225
Oulton Park - Weds 27th April - £229
Oulton Park - Weds 8th June - £229

Croft - Fri 22nd July - £175
Zolder - Fri 29th July - £150
French Frolic 10 - 21st-28th Aug - Sold out
Spa Francorchamps - Thurs 29th Sept - £225
Cadwell Park - Mon 31st Oct - £125
Oulton Park - Fri 18th Nov - £130

April would be too soon for me...need time to save up...June not out of the question but Fri 18th Nov has a certain ring about it! Also looks far better value, presume there is a reason though...weather risks?

Bookatrack don't have much at OP, but do have Anglesey Coastal on Sat 9th July for £210...and hey, it's with vx220.org.uk, you'll be right at home! Sadly I'm on holiday then, or would have given that serious attention. Anglesey (Coastal) comes warmly recommended by many, including our tame racing driver.

Easytrack have too many OP days to list, culminating with one for £125 on Sat 19th Nov:

Ah well, something for me to aim for!

Assuming I can find the day I'll join in on any Oulton Park day you guys decide to go on - November looks good - hopefully the circuit will be wet, which is always more fun :-)

Cheers,
Robin
