Ah yes, but hot hatch is KH car track day too but same cars can go to both? No differentiator is there?

dirkpitt wrote::P :P yeah that sounds like a must...........clarkie, what’s the drop like when going over the chicane.....
a thought would be 2hr session in one direction and 2hr in the other......at least that would even up the tire wear
The drop is very noticable and absolutely fantastic fun, especially as you can be absolutely flat as you drop, brake, left, move over to right and into second for flat out up doofis.

Aimed very differently I'd imagine. HH days are very targeted at Neds in Sheds (from the few I attended way back) and driving standards are.... variable. Certainly, they used to run channels of cones in the run up to each corner to ensure the tumshies didn't try to go through three-abreast.

General car days are marketed a little more as the old Hot Marques were. That's my reading of it, anyway.

That didn't always stop them.

Thanks shug, that's what it seemed like with a few lower values in the way.

Yip, there were still a couple of sheds and also neds the other night, however a very high percentage of the cars were worth 20k and a lot more. GTR (a couple), E92 M3 x 2/3, Exige, Ultima, Seat racing car, Evo racing car, silly fast S2000, EVO X, 7 racing, Pork GT3 RS, Atom and on and on

Also a few less expensive: vauxhall saloon thingy, 205, mx5 x 3/4, corsa, rover (which spun right in front of me).

Plus a few in between value, mini racing, ST racing, elise

Think Hot Marques were getting tough to sell as everyone thought you needed a Ferrari to get on. So they re-branded and opened them up a bit.

Think they still monitor what comes on and pay special attention to any sheds driving - without wanting to turn it into a HH night.

Used to be that cars for Hot Marque days had to be valued at above £15K, until I pointed out to Ian Forrest that would preclude half of our Elises.

As a result it was done on a car evaluation basis to keep the numbers up, which means more shed like cars will now be able to get on.

I dont think i've ever seen them reject anything?

They seem to run on a different theory - if it is a shed it will detontate ...........

Mon the 205's :blackeye. Think the issue is people rather than cars.
I drive a 205 at hot hatch days so could be insulted Shug

Yes, I drive it because its cheapish and if I crash its no great loss to me but that seems to be the outlook of many owners of better track cars Ive met. Seen far more Ferraris, Elises, Evo's , Lambos, Gt3's, Caterhams and R8's driven with no consideration for others than wee hatches.

Used my GoPro in the car on Monday but need to play about with the positiong to get the best view forward, great footage but mostly of the inside of the car

This vid will give a good idea of the circuit in reverse, plus Rory will be much quicker than me :D

Anyone thinking of attending on Tuesday (29th)?

I get back from work that day, so will be staying at my folks place (30 mins away) that evening and may pop up...Won't be driving - the S(hed)2000 needs a spanner check / service before seeing any track action, and I won't have time beforehand.

Instead, I'll attempt a few snaps - Although I've only got my wee Canon G12 up in Scotland with me, so it'll be a bit limiting...

Will also chuck my lid in the car - Happy to sit next to any TD newbies; I'm Captain Slow, but I've been around KH a few times over the years, and driven it in reverse when they ran a TD that way back in 2004...(Eight years ago? Ouch! )

:thumbsup

Popped up for a looksee last night, but didn't stay long as I didn't know anyone & the midges were nipping...

First Hot Hatch day I've attended in y-e-a-r-s...Some hilarious barry boy chod parked in the paddock, and I did earwig on a few amusing conversions at the hairpin ("OMG - LOZ, wanna pit 19's oan mah Corsa an' a boost gauge MAN").

There was some comedy cr*p driving from a few, but not particularly dangerous or aggressive...I'd have been happy to drive the S(hed)2000 last night, and was sorely tempted to go sign on, were I not ker-knacked having just got back on dry land.

Only had my compact camera with me, so not at all very good for snapping... :(

(Notice KH seem to have relaxed their long sleeved policy - One bloke was in a wife beater!)
