A classic track for 2014?

Cadwell must go on the top of your list. It has the fast sweeping corners similar to Spa at the top of the circuit and the tight, twisty with no run off similar to the ring down at the Mountain and Hall bends. Great track for the Elise but care must be taken in the wet if you want to drive home afterwards. Some mega scalping can be done with very little power in the wet if you have little sense of self preservation

Donnington is great fun with a decent mix of corners including the awesome Crainer curves. Well worth a trip.

Silverstone is pretty dull to be honest. Just some long straights connected by a couple of uninteresting corners

Brands Indy was always fun to race in Time Attack. Paddockhill bend is pretty awesome but i am not sure if I would head all the way down there just for the Indy. GP circuit is epic.

Really hoping that loch gelly turns in to a wee practice circuit we can use.

I just spent the weekend at Driftland in the Atom. It's a great wee circuit with a decent mix of corners and if you are a fan of the sideways side of things, its perfect for you. Think of it more in terms of a decent sized sprint circuit rather than a full blown race track. Definitely worth a visit though and I am sure the helpful management would be very helpful if there was to be an S.E. day organised.

There will be a new Donkey Punch next year, with the classic end of season event (currently being Oulton) seeing a Oulton & Cadwell double header.

Spaz is up in the air till Spa release their dates for 2104 - but will shout when i know more.

Should be a great year for lunacy.

Driftland actually has plans to expand. As Scot says though, its tight and short currently, perfect for the Experience stuff, but not a Knockhill yet, and passing etc would be a shocker (theres only 1 straight). Great venue though, and genuinely enthusiasts that are running the place which helps!

As the Rolfe says, Ledenon is epic. Still one of my favourite tracks - and I always love arriving in the pit lane, wondering over to the pit wall, and looking at the ribbons of tarmac some lunatic has painted over all the hills in the immediate vacinity - suppose it helps the weather down there is usually special also. Would love to go back with the Atom..........

Maybe LeRolfe means duration? In which case SpaZZ should be a shorter 'door to door' trip...inside the week pass.

I console myself with the fact that I actually do get to go on some crackers from time to time....just they are a bit more spaced out since we had the children

Oulton & Anglesey last year was a great outing despite being short.

Spa for my 40th was very special indeed.

Ring in 2003 is a distant memory but epic all the same.

Just not fair to throw too much cash at petrol and beer unless I can fund sending Lisa and the kids somewhere fun too!

Starting to wish I hadn't done so many trackdays when I did as I now find it hard to get excited about them. Think your way is probably better Campbell. Do few but really appreciate them.

I am missing euro track days though, the journey is 80% of the fun.

Understand where you are coming from on this Big D - fortunately for me I start to get withdrawal symptoms and have to get back on track.

The year i raced 2007, I done so many track days, road miles, races etc - that when October came, and the race at Spa beckoned, I honestly couldnt face getting in the car to drive to Spa. Something that had been my seasons goal, and I had the license upgrade to race there!

It was the year of the 2 week frolic which saw us rack up the best bit of 4k miles I think, and from April to Sept i covered 12k miles in my race car! Thank god Robin masterminded that build!!!

Still I always think you need some track action from time to time, as much for the banter as anything, as it gets harder to catch up with the madmen on SE with wife & kids etc starting to distract people

I noticed that there are 50 units left, so I will keep a look out to see if SE are planning to head there later this year, as I fancy going too.


Andy G, how long roughly before do you start booking for this? A couple of months before, just after SpaZZ, or soon?

I've done Cadwell on the bike a few times, it's a fantastic circuit Steve.
There a fair few heading there on the way back from Spaz,
Can't make it myself this time but I'd recommend you give it a go.
