Dave

El cheapo option is some of the ferries from Dover. Ed will keep you right. For convenience and flexibility the majority use Eurotunnel. Cheapest way is to book two same day returns and don't use half of them. I believe that there is some kind of Tesco Clubcard scheme whereby your points will get you big discount. Have a look online for details. I am sure the tunnel is about £110. Ferries can be had for half of that.

However, as above, it would appear that Zandvoort may be a possibility which changes things as this would mean Newcastle to Amsterdam(?) Just waiting on Paul Golding to confirm.

You may also want to try and get a shot of someone's toll road telepeage badge that allows you to whiz through the tolls. I seem to recall that they are no longer available to new UK applicants. I think Sanjoy was perhaps one of the last to get one so he may be able to keep you right.

gordie express and Zandvoort = if Calsberg did holidays

Zandvoort is well worth the extra trip.

How about heading out a day early to start off Mr G's Stagger in style with a night in Amsterdam

Count me out of any night time Amsterdam activities; cannot be arsed picking up the pieces :-)

Paul stopped doing the crossings a few trips back - I think I've booked the last 2 years myself?

Cheers,
Robin

That's a bit of a headstart, Ed, but knowing your propensity for getting drunk and lying in, I strongly suspect we'll be in the bar before you, even if we're starting from Holland :-)

did Zandervort get confirmed pre frolic?

If so ignore my next question.

Does anyone else fancy getting their car shipped to france, and flying instead of doing the drive?

Simply cannot be arsed with 800 miles there and back in the R400.

Mass will pm you about it :thumbsup

I don't suppose it will be cheaper than driving it there will it? If it was even close, taking in fuel, time and tunnel I would be up for that, but I suspect it may be out of my budget :| Flight would no doubt be pricey also given peak season.

well depending on whether or not their is a pre-ff trackday you can weasel jet to nice from Edinburgh.

tbh - as long as the cost wasnt mad - i'd be up for it just to save myself the really dull bits of the trip, and arrive fresh in the right part of Europe :thumbsup

Andy, can't you get one of your bitches to drive the R400 down there? :-)

Or perhaps ask Neil, as he's trying to sell his car and won't necessarily have another available in time for FF? Maybe Neil could take your car to Zandvoort, assuming that the anticipated pre-FF booking materializes, and you could fly to Nice? OK, you would miss Zandvoort, but your car wouldn't :-)

Cheers,
Robin

haha!

F*** that - it would be nice for the car to make it to Frolic

I want to do Zandervort if it on though. Might just take the rangie, stock it with beer fridges and tow the r400.
