Dave... was that you in the kitty litter tonight after the chicane? I had to take avoiding action to miss McKeans 135R, which was locking up to avoid a spinning grey blur...
Hope you didn't pick up any damage in the gravel :thumbsup
Andy.

Cheers Campbell... it was a bit covered in bird poo down the left hand side so looking forward to see if that came out on any photos (sure I saw camera's at the hairpin).

twas Dave's missus that ended up in the kitty litter after a heroic attempt at catching a miracle slide, and twas Simon ironside driving my car doing an amazing attempt at not binning it.

P.S was a very annoying night for me. Sorry to all the people that sat in my passenger seat and had to listen to my filthy mouth as i shouted abuse at my car, me, other peoples cars and just life in general.

Compromises dude compromises . . . I had a similar experience on track in the Elise for the first time in a long time the other week . . . hated it, crap gearbox, crap ratios, crap engine, bus like steering, engine in the back oversteer crap and problematic weight balance . . . soggy brakes, far too heavy . . . never again . . . but the problem is the track machine, the one with a gear for every corner, delicate and precise flickable perfection in the corners . . . is not like that on the road . . . in truth it's like running for 20 miles avoiding people shooting you with grenades whilst being unable to breathe . . . in 5 miles you just wonder how you made it, in 10 miles you're living on borrowed time . . . but on the track . . . it's perfection . . . it's funny but until you experience the extremes you just don't realise that there are extremes . . .

I was chatting to Nikki about this tonight . . . and if I had to have one, I'd have the Elise . . . take note . . . ;-) . . . Lotus got one thing exactly right with the Elise . . . a ROADCAR that can be tracked, not the other way round . . . it's only taken me 9 years, 100K miles and a lot of money to realise that it was perfect the way it came out of the factory ;-) . . .

Adam, was that Kev in the Caterham? I hope the weather was good all evening.

Dave, any damage to your car? Hope not.

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

I think they just get better and better...and that includes if you leave 'em alone and only drive them!

Fascinating to hear the feedback, TBH.

I phoned Lisa from the golf course today and she said "I've just had the most FANTASTIC drive home from work in the Elise!!" - the best thing you can do is not drive it for a wee while, then get back behind the wheel. We take for granted what these cars can do, I think.

Sounds like I missed a fun night at KH. Only a family golf grudge match got in the way, will try harder to get over to others this year.

Em had fun, I thought she had caught the slide at first until I saw the oncoming traffic.
No obvious damage other than hurt pride. There were some small stones wedged between rim and tyre so we called it a night.
I'll have a good look under the car tomorrow at CLCM, wheels will need a refurb but I'll leave that until after French Frolic.

The all you can eat Chinese is recommended post Knockhill. They insisted we all had two puddings.

Some very nice cars up tonight, Ferrari 208 Turbo ( Italian spec, only 7 ever made) , stunning 355 ( Amazing spec! ), a certain gent in his new 430 ( Top marks for taking it on track sir! ), the jet engine sounding supercharged Cobra, The Lister thingie ( apparently totally original, part of some Arnold Clark collection, priceless ) which was getting full beans on the track, the list goes on, and obviously some nice Loti too!!

Hopefully adam got some good pics tonight!
