Dave is coming in my Pax seat.

I'll ditch him and come with you in the 340R though Sanj if you say the word. I've never liked him that much anyway.

Will not get on the road until later this afternoon so won't arrive in Cheshire until late. Will probably stay at Holly Bush Inn as no rooms left at Alvanley Arms so hopefully see you chaps tomorrow morning at the circuit.

In return, you can watch a spanner trying to take a wheel off with a spanner

Threw in an old jack and some rudimentary tools.

Another great winter LOT day at oulton. It really is the best elise track in britain. Having survived the Noah esk floods on thursday night (aquaplaning at 90tuts, didnt grip until we had slowed to 55), much of the typical banter ensued. An early (ish) night before a busy day today. The first few laps were slippy, but it slowly dried all morning. The SE crowd were as always the fastest drivers there, bar a 911 GT2 race car on wets/slicks as appropriate. I was whipping the trusty steed into a frenzy with various paxs. Dave, mike, fred from lot, freds gf all had a few fun laps. Mike obviously liked what he saw, so invited me to drive him in his 211. I tossed the shed keys to malcolm, and hopped in the 211. I think scotty had bigged me up to mike, so expectations were high. I tried my best but mike declared it to be nothing like what he was expecting :( sorry to dissapoint mike

getting back in the shed was a bit of a let down tbh. It handles and brakes just as well, but it lacks the grunt. Thankfully it was lunchtime, so food took my mind off it. As we gathered after lunch, it started spitting with rain. The usual corners got slippy again, then it started getting heavier until the track was back to worse than 1st thing. Thankfully, sadistic me enjoys OP at its most punishing, and did 55 minutes solid learning where the grip wasnt every lap. I eventually came in when i started aquaplaning in bizarre dangerous places. I was planning to head out after the rain died off, but dave had dumped his bag in mikes ranngie, who had left for aberdeen whilst we were on track, so we had to miss the last 30 minutes and try to catch up with mike. That didnt happen, those range rovers can go a hell of a speed.

Probably forgotten all the really funny stuff already, but its days like these that remind me why i enjoy the elise. Just a shame it didnt have more grunt.

What a track!!, what a couple of days............... I have to admit that I nearly turned round and went home on Thursday, unbelievable amount of rain on the way down but the gods were smiling on the traveling SE posse and Friday morning was dry and quite mild for November. Goood banter on Thursday night, food was good but if you stay at that hotel make sure you get a room at the back, bit noisy with a surprising amount of traffic. After the sitting laps the track dried fairly quickly and the levels of grip increased with every lap. Pax with Neil to see where to go and figured it would be both educational and fun to let him have a go of the 2-11. Not what I was expecting after what I have read on here, immense fun cheers for letting me see what my car can do when driven properly :thumbsup .
Oulton Park is an amazing circuit and Druids diserves it's reputation as I so nearly found out when it started rain after lunch. I will definitely be back there, just a pity it's 350miles away but well worth the round trip.
Good to meet Paul, Ian and Neil for the first time. Dave was awfully quite, unlike last time we met and good to catch up with George. Have to organise a spring pilgrimage, such a good track :thumbsup

Edit: almost forgot I have video :D will post it up tomorrow when I get a chance :thumbsup
