Rejoined LOT, and am waiting on Neil to decide if he wants to go, either way, I think I will go, but it would be good to have company on the ferry and drive over.
I will book into your hotel Robin,(if thats Ok) no point in sliting up when we get there.

Come on Neil, you know you want to.

Any other takers????

Cool. There is the option of staying at La Source too - Paul has a deal with them, but it was 25euro more expensive than what we're paying at the racing hotel ... that said, I'm sure it's more than 2x as nice a place to stay :-)

Cheers,
Robin

The La Source is fantastic, a real hotel , that said, the beer is a bit more, but the breakfast is also good, if the have the full buffet on.
It will be a quieter (posh) place to stay, but if the rest of the LOT guys are there, I am sure that will not be the case.

Cheers

If it's that bad, I could be persuaded to move to La Source ... I can cancel my reservation at the Racing Hotel for only 40euro I think ...

Hi Robin

I think we are sorted.
Me and neil are going, ferry across on wed afternoon, will need to find something to do on Thrusday on the way there, would like to stay at La Source for the 2 night, I will get the first round in robin if you want to stay there as well :D , trackday on the friday, few beers on friday night , then the spa F1 museum on sat. before the ferry home.

Total cost for the ferry each is £280 including all you can eat buffet at night, and an upgrade room , so if you take off £140 for fuel, and £90 for the chunnel, it really is better, not to mention the 14+ hours of driving it saves.

Cant wait, hope its wet again :D

Hi Stu,

I'll change the reservation on Monday; I need to head via Chunnel as (a) I'm picking Rossini up on the way and (b) I'm going to stop in with my folks on the way home, and they're in London anyway.

Cheers,
Robin

Great, not sure why Scotty does not like the Racing Hotel??
I emailed La Source yesterday, and its 115eu per twin room, which includes breakfast.

Are you just staying thusday, then heading off after the track day?

Hi,

I'm booked for Silverstone GP circuit on March 21st. Problem I have is when at Knockhill on Saturday my son told me my Exhaust was probably the noisiest on track, I believe its a stage 2, but I'm concerned it might be too loud for Silverstone's 105 Db limit. My questions are, does anyone know how I can check it in advance (I've got a Db app on my I pnone, but not sure how accurate it is ) and does anyone have a standard Exige exhaust I could borrow for that weekend ( or how much to buy if available ) Is the noise level limit strictly enforced ?

Cheers

It was loud but probably the best sounding there. Can't comment on how much though but it wasn't as loud as the golf. (not that any of this helps)

105 db is quite high I would think you would be OK. As a comparison the standard 2-11 exhaust is 98db most of which is probably SC noise. My S1 with full SS solid EP exhaust was still below 100db. I have a sound meter if you want to pop past the house we can find out. Not as accurate as the ones used at events (+-2db) but will give a good idea.

KH's noise limit: We have a noise limit of 105db(A). The noise reading is measured statically at 0.5 metres at 3/4 revs.. I wouldn't worry TBH :thumbsup .

Mike,

That would be brilliant, would hate to drive all the way down to Silverstone to find out I couldn't get on track. I can come round anytime (sure would give me peace of mind).

Cheers
