French Frolic 2017....

I've been in touch with Claude for timings so just thought I would share them with y'all.

For the next FF we finish at 5pm (latest) at Dijon -as that's when they close- and head off directly to Orange so we can make it for dinner. The day after is indeed off to recover. We need a day off to recover or fix cars if needed, hence going to Orange directly after Dijon.

So careful there, only Mon night at Dijon, Tue and rest of the trip at Orange, relax.

Of course, the Wed being off, people are free to do as they fancy, should they want to stroll between Dijon and Orange, or pick up partners in between or else... But my recommendation would be to leave for Orange once one's track day is done, so that people can have a real day off. And enjoy being based at Orange.

Sat geordie with a night over in Reims on the Sunday seems like a plan per the LOT page...?

Not booked anything for Frolic yet.

My current thinking is either travel via Geordie Express on the Saturday and drive straight to Dijon and have a quiet day on the Monday. I didn't see much of Dijon last time there so might be a nice relaxing option. But favourite is Geordie Express on Sunday and straight down to Dijon which should get me late afternoon on Monday, dinner and a couple of beers ahead of track on Tuesday. If I remember correctly most of square in Dijon was closed the last time we were there in August.

Haven't decided between Newcastle, Hull or Tunnel options on way out but for return, Lot have a trackday at Croix en Ternois, 1 hr from Calais, on the Monday so planning a two day drive north through the alps then Tunnel either Monday night or Tuesday morning

Has anyone paid for track insurance separately for Europe trips, if so, who did you use?

I am not keen on risking it - may have to forget it for a year.

It is not a specific track - it's due to number for me for the year. I have already used 3 in their eyes even though the car never made it onto cadwell and the limit is 5.

If you go on a track that you did not have cover for and have an accident, just switch it to one that you did have cover for.

The problem is you need to let them know 24 hours in advance.

My current policy ends on the 24th of August so I will need to renew to get cover on the 25th for Ledanon.
