Ed's right - but i;

A - dont want to drive though England (too much traffic/speed cameras etc)
B- need to get home asap
C - would rather wake up in Newcastle on the Sunday morning at 9am with a 2 hour drive home

Theres bound to be people doing a whole manner of things though, and Franks plan, if you have the time, sounds exceptional :thumbsup

Thinking about it, I'm probably going to book a ferry for the Sunday so I can have a few shandies on the Friday night at the party and have a long-ish lie on the Saturday.

That means booking a hotel somewhere closer to Amsterdam for the Saturday night.

Anyone else thinking similar or are those leaving on the Saturday doing a 5am start and blasting up the road??

Cheers!

Dave.
Myself and Mr Hay and our other halfs are going to head to North France on Saturday once we have sobered up - stay the night in a hotel then head up to Amsterdam for the Ferry on the Sunday night

Nothing booked on the Saturday so any ideas of decent location/hotel would be appreciated :thumbsup

That might actually be Sunday knowing you mate :damnfunny

We stayed at Chateau Le Mans Country Club last year, but that was better located for the tunnel. Wasnt anything fancy, just lastminuted on the way up the road, rather than return to the "rape" hotel.

Might be worth posting that question on LOT as I'm sure some of the Frenchies would be able to suggest some far better places, that may help with brownie points, post frolic :thumbsup

Thought we had paid for a twin room each - if so there will be room in the hotels on the Sunday onwards. I assume we will be heading south on Saturday after a night in the dam and getting a hotel on the way down or are we planning on heading straight to the first LOT hotel (Ibis Mâcon Sud) for Saturday night as well??

You might be lucky as we dont normally take all the rooms - how many nights are you coming along for?

Would love to have taken that up, Peter, sadly this is probably still a year or two too early for me. Of course by the time I've saved up the readies, the Elise will probably have finally given up the will to live !! Or the next ones will go back to clashing with Eilidh's birthday :roll:

Mind you, if we wait enough years, she'll be old enough to come with me I guess :damnfunny
