I'd guess that Walshy would make the trip up if there was enough interest?

Any other interest?

I'm not so certain, Willie used to be a regular on here and most of the "old hands" know about the problems he has with the planning folk (and the local community).

IIRC he's only allowed 28day per year and can make a hell of a lot more cash out of "thrash" days than he would hiring it out to Walshy for private training.

From what i've read on here in the past, he used to come up, but can now fill his diary with ppl down there.

Also, booking Crail is supposed to be near impossible now as the locals complained lots about the noise / volume of traffic through the village, and I reckon (Fife council?) restricted Crail to something like 20 days a year, and of course they fill these with high profit days such as the max power events etc, not low profit bookings by ppl like us.

Is there still an airfield at Edzell / does anyone know what state it's in/if it's used by anyone for anything? There were rumours at 1 point that the Crail events would be shared with Edzell, but you know the rumour-mill...

I'd be interested, but i'm not sure my wallet could handle it!

I think the more affluent members of the SE community should club together and buy Leuchars. Would solve all these niggling little problems like where to host autotests, walshy days, alternative to Knockhill etc.

:D

that was until the weekend......I found out that some of the training had stuck......and I found out that I still have a lot of luck from time to time!

Walshy said to me that he WOULD come up if we sorted the venue (crail is not an option) and sorted a suitable night out after!

Cool. Well, let me know when you've organised it then!!

You'd prob need to book the place for a week - if he came up, it would surely be oversubscribed.

Edzell, although i think the 1/4 day got so much bad press future events were canned?!

Theres also east fortune?

Does the course just explore limits on a big open space or is there a track laid out etc?

Airfields would be best (plenty of run off) there was a thread a few months back by some VX boys who hired one down south for much cheapness. At the time their was some investigations into doing the same. Worth a few phone calls again to some of the Scottish airfields to see if they might be available?
