I would certainly recommend the reflash. Far better on track.

Re-flash indeed successful on track - you don't get a kick in the back any more but, for example, coming out of Clarks the acceleration is better sooner instead of waiting for what seems an age until 6200 rpm.

Car was going really well today straight from service and re-flash by Ali at SLS - but some over-enthusiasm going into the chicane resulted in slight contact with the left hand bollard. :( Warning - it's hard!

My excuse (a new one :) ) was that the winter sun disoriented my usual impeccable line through there. No significant damage but appears to have knocked out alignment - see separate thread.

Good to meet up with a selection of S_Elisers - not all on track - a pity as would have preferred to have you on track instead some of the over-testosteroned, under-skilled drivers out there.

Good to meet you today Brian and glad the ecu reflash seems a nifty thing to do. I just watched the cars go round in circles today whilst drinking hot coffee :) , spoke to the Club Racer "twins" :D and had a wee drool over Pauls GT3 8)

Well, I was the fatest Lotus on track today* at the novice track day in the morning :D

Couldn't do the afternoon due to other commitments and as I had only done one other open track day before, the novice one suited me too. Worked out really well with it being great weather and only 14 cars booked in. Was a bit worried this might be full of old Saxos and Corsa with big exhausts, but no it was fine. They had to salt the track in the morning and was a bit slippy at first. Quite a few offs and about 4 red light sessions.

Same here - one guy in a mini ended up in the gravel after the first corner on his very first lap then on his second lap ended up on his roof on the other side of the track. Think he was told not to come back.

The 2 other elise owners there - both blue S1s - hadn't heard of SE so hopefully a couple of new members on the way.

* Until Tut turned up for the last half hour - good to meet you Tut and Mass too (Modena Scotland) whose Club Racer looks sooo good in the flesh/metal. If like me you doubt the colour from the pictures, you will change your mind when you see it for real 8)

It was really good to meet everyone this afternoon. A huge thank you to Mass (Modena Scotland) for allowing me to make myself comfortable in his passenger seat. It has really opened my eyes to what my car can do.

I’ll definitely be looking to get mine out on track in the near future – now just need to learn how to drive it properly.

Take care

That is the reason I did not book up....I found the "manners" of most involved previously to be very poor......I'll wait until my skill level increases and I'm better suited to deal with these problems.

(only my opinion!)

Turned up to watch, like Paul decided it was too cold so managed to blag on at half price :D

Car was going reasonably well but felt something wasn't quite right, came in after my third session to find some play in the front left wheel. Answers to what that might be welcome.

Strangely when I got home the play in the wheel seemed to have vanished, may visit Ali for a checkup anyway.

We popped up for about an hour to say hello and have a watch at what was going on :D

Great to speak to a few of the SE crowd. I was the cold looking one in bike kit  Jon, nice to meet you and your club racer. You'll need to get it on track but it looked stunning in the paddock :thumbsup

Been a while since I've done a Top Marques but there certainly seems to be more 'racing' that there used to be, especially with the Evos :|

It was really nice to meet all you guys from the forum. Jim, your s1 Exige looked cool. Jon, you were very welcome. Andy, sorry I could not pax your girlfriend. I run out of petrol and had to get some and then needed to pax a friend of mine before taking her. May be next time. DJ, glad you liked the club racer. Tut, I was surprised to find you really drove without shoes. Very fast on the track too!

First time on the track with the club racer. The car drove ok but ended up with a large stone chip......

Next KH trackday on 22/02. Hope to see some more of you then.

The stone chip was from the Blue Focus RS that spun off at Duffus Dip & went sideways into the gravel spewing it all over the LHS of the track (in the apex of the corner!)

Great day out, I was just spectating...........

We joked that if both Club racers were on the track at the same time, a half lap apart, will seem like doing 30 seconds a lap to the people in the pit lane.

Only popped up for an hour or so, but was nice to see a variety of Lotii and their owners :) Once again I was less than impressed with some of the driving standards at a Hot Marques event, there seemed to be an awful lot of groups driving very close together, as Andy mentioned the Evos seeminly the worst for this.

Brian, really sorry to hear about your incident at the chicane, hope it's nothing too serious.
