Might take the VX down too as the weather is looking good - touch wood.

The last one was one of the best trackdays I've been to......this was def the worst....I'm glad I couldn't take part!
Glad to see that no-one was hurt and good to meet fundie, ceejam, Kev and Cammy (niiiice wheels). :thumbsup

Edit to add -
No offence to the organisers......it was the drivers involved that are to blame......dunno what got into them!

Shocking driving standards by many drivers. One of the worst TDs I have attended with numerous red flags. The track condition was perfect which makes it more annoying.

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Well only my second trackday and first dry one, and well, I got to see alot of RED lights and flags. I did manage to pop my spinning cherry though, the elise done well ploughing the grass. Everytime you went out, you were lucky to get 3-5 laps in before you seen red. It did get a little better towards the end, until the fiesta ST binned it and rolled, which caused an early end of the session. Hope they are ok, I was just going into Duffus as he span and hit the tyre wall. Good to meet you Campbell and Ian. I did get to try out my new Carbotech XP8 pads, there awesome, well impressed :thumbsup

even as a specator, i have to say this was a terrible day aswell,

the cars just seemed to be a lot slower and not pushing it as much as i've seen, which confuses me on why so many red flags!

was good to meet to meet who'ever i met!

OK... keep it clean :/

I wasnt there so can you try and explain who/what/where please? We can try and use contructive crit for future events.

Thats the first thing I said to Fee on the phone after she told me there had been a few reds, and folk not moving out the way etc. 'was it pissing it down' .... no...

There was no rhyme or reason to it......there was a huge difference in performance there and the same in terms of abilities/experience.
I don't know what could have been done......just one of those days!
Even reliable cars were going pop, wheels falling off cars, new cars going pop and people parking in the tyres ( a couple looked nasty)......I believe there will be some interesting photos and videos to come!

Not a flaming sir!

Adam

The track condition was perfect. Stayed dry all day.

It was just some drivers' lack of skill and track etiquette. Most of red flags were caused by driver errors may be some by mechanical breakdowns (an elise brew up the engine, Radical drive shaft issue, EVO lost a wheel etc). Although I did not have too much problems, I've heard many drivers saying some cars were not moving over. May be lack of understanding by those drivers as blue flag was in operation.

Also you may want to consider the mixtures of the cars as I believe some cars were 700 bhp+ while there were some really slow cars.

Hope your GTR drove ok today. I saw Fee driving it :thumbsup

Fee said she had a good day in the Skyline, but I think she too was a bit bemused by the reds....

She also mentioned that there may be some swearing at other cars in her videos  esp a certain Supra :? She had a little niggle with the car off track. It popped the top coolant hose off when she was having lunch. Must have been overlooked and not tightented correctly when the engine was popped back in a wee while ago.

One thing we have tried to avoid so far is putting restrictions on cars... from past experience money doesnt buy brains or talent behind the wheel.

Further disscussion on the flags etc going on here - http://www.trackscotland.co.uk/forums/v ... 0&start=90

The Supra was a straight line hero .....

From my (trackside) view there were a couple of people who were trying too hard not to get passed (and going beyond their own limits) and some that were the opposite (and had lost all speed by the time the straight was finished, causing further problems)......was a couple of people who liked to get "close" to other cars too!

I'm sure it will prove to be a one off!
See you next year!

Did Fee get the leak sorted.....was a lot of fluid/steam from the engine/radiator?

Sadly have to agree with the above, a very stop-start afternoon :(

One thing I think should be stressed at the drivers briefing is that people who have pulled over to let cars past shouldn't just sharply pull back onto the racing line - this happened to me a few times today, although to be fair, one of those who did this came over to apologise afterwards. Wasn't particularly impressed either by the Corsa that almost ran into the back of me at Clarks as we were caught up in traffic.

A real shame, as it was the perfect weather for it.
