Yes, well worth the drive for an excellent morning and good to meet up with the squad. First thing in the morning was interesting due to variable grip as usual at Oulton but dried out pretty much 100% by lunch. Memorable grandstand view of Mckeann showing Mike a novel line through Old Hall in the 2-11 which was entertaining but I did not attempt to copy. When the rain came on after lunch time to call it a day and head up the road. Racebox certainly excelled itself on that trip, 2-11 now back in its garage clean and dry after some grubby conditions on both legs of journey.
Interesting trip up - I took the advice of RRS satnav and took a detour to avoid congestion on M6 around Lancaster. Via Clitheroe and Settle. Would have been a nice drive if a) it wasn't dark and b) I wasn't towing a trailer. Sure it added an hour at least. May not have been too bad though as I think was McK and Dave who only passed me just south of Glasgow, and I passed Mike in layby at Brechin later.

Wondered I f you might have past me. Had to grab a kip, nightshift finally caught up with me. Saw you turn of the motorway down towards some services. I stopped for an hour at Abington waiting for Neil and Dave and again in that layby for about half an hour. Traffic wasn't that bad, a bit at Lancaster but other than that never stopped moving.

George,

One thing I learnt from three years of RRS ownership was NEVER to trust the satnav!! We didn't come across any delays on the M6. Was wondering why we didnt pass you, as we only left about 10 minutes afterwards!!

I've got around 375 pics from the day so hopefully at least one decent one of all the SE boys.... It was really dull weather and my shaky hands and poor camera skills didn't help the pics..

Here's the first few I've uploaded...(after running them through some quick n' dirty photoshop level boosting actions!)

I wouldnt go so far as to claim that was the fastest way round that corner, but its not the slowest either :D

Hopefully Mike has some onboard footage of it, but it never looks as dramatic on camera.

I was talking to Jo, who now runs LOT Uk at the weekend

I have asked her if she could sort out a double header for us next year, preferably Friday, Saturday (Sundays are hard to get). Oulton with another track ,Donny or Anglesey?

Might be a good SE summer trip with a few Welsh roads thrown in?

Sounds like an S_E event.

After the Ring/Spa excursion, the local tracks should be easier with less road driving.
