Roads might be quite busy on Friday (it is Good Friday, after all), though perhaps people will head off on Thursday night or early Friday if Friday is a public holiday?

BTW, I booked the ferry Hull->Rotterdam one way for 170 car, 2 people, 2-berth cabin. Haven't yet decided on the ring, but either way I won't be coming back on the Rotterdam->Hull ferry ;-)

Hi Robin, Stu & co

I've booked this place for the Friday eve, it's £37 single and £56 for a twin B&B, clean and tidy and the LoT guys were using it last time I was there.

Finally checked out the ferries, best one seems to be Harwich to Hook of Holland. £200 return including cabin, Stena Line.

Leaves Harwich around 23.00 hrs and takes 6 hrs so plenty of time to drive from Cadwell, have a meal on the ferry and a good sleep.

Return trip leaves HoH around 22.00 hrs daily,so good both ways. Still waiting to hear from D-N about the ring day before booking tuesday t/d, ferry and Burgstube......

How about hotel in Stavelot??

I've booked the other ferry already ... looking at where Harwich is, I would rather drive to the channel tunnel than cross Norfolk :-)

I haven't thought further about hotels ... would happily go anywhere nice that isn't dead ... open to suggestions!

Are people going down on the Friday night before Cadwell? Do you generally try and stay in the same hotel and head to the track together?

Heads-up for anyone going ..the D-N trackday for 2nd and 3rd April is now open for booking ..

Price is £749 for the two days but the Tuesday is only a half day. Just hope it's dry some of the time :D

Martin still has some rooms left in the Burgstube.

Ferg, whatever you do make sure you get a good nights sleep before CP, especially if you are going to drive back up the road on the Saturday evening..I'm leaving Glasgow around 11am on the Friday.

Hi Frank,

I don't think I'll be going on the ring after Spa. Just deciding on pre-CP evening but leaning towards staying the same place you're going.

Cheers,
Robin

Hi,

I've booked the night before Spa at La Source - boring I know, but easy to organize ;-)

I've booked return crossing from Spa on the evening of 1/4 (i.e. straight after the track day) - have Neil as chauffeur so I figure I can go straight home after the track day :-)

Still to organize the Black Horse ... better get that sorted. The challenge is we won't be leaving Bo'ness until 15:00 and I cannot quite figure out what traffic will be like, but possibly terrible. Friday is a public holiday in Scotland and England, leading into the Easter weekend - Monday also a holiday - so wondering who'll be on the road on Friday afternoon - either nobody or everybody I guess!

So part of me thinks we would be better off aiming for somewhere an hour or two away and doing the final stint to Cadwell first thing in the morning. I'll confer with my chauffeur and decide.

Cheers,
Robin

Thats me finally got booked. If anyone hasn't booked yet, the Hull-Rotterdam ferry's pretty expensive if you get a one way. You can get it for £108 though if you just book it as a return with the return leg as Calais-Dover on the Sunday night. La Source is cheaper too if you ask for the Lotus rate.
