I'd agree I had no issues with you guys. Excellent driving standard.Andy G wrote:I should say actually that I though all the SE group were great at keeping watch for quicker cars. Good effort chaps

I said this at the time. But there are loads of tracks with 105db limits. So why you would build a car that is THAT loud is beyond me?? Seemed to spend more time in the pits with a crowd round it than out on the trackShug wrote:Orange Exige didn't get the chance to open all the way - I never came across it on track, but Pauline was saying that the noise police were threatening to kick them off altogether if they used full revs.
Shame - looked very tidy. Loved the 4-pot calipers glinting through the front wheels and the Honda install was particularly neat.
Was changing from 2nd to 3rd on the right hander after the chicaine, usind all the revs in 3rd, (so up to 90ish) then dabbing the brake and turning in with neutral/very light throttle to keep the car settled. The car was basicly drifting through the corner with all 4 wheels at times!! Once the tyres were hot i glanced down at the speedo on turn in and was at 80mph exactly on the apex. But ran a bit wide onto the concrete on that lap. Got it on video of a few attempts. Waiting on google to authorise them. I think that if you started from the pit entry and pulled on the track from a standing start then it could prob be flat. No taking away from it though, it's a fantastic corer that always has you thinking "i'll just try and run it in that 1mph faster next time and see what happens".Lawrence wrote:Gordon wroteWhat speed were you doing at entry? In the sprints of course we would be staionary at the concrete pit lane so your speed there would be added to any accleration speed. with hindsight I perhaps should say it was an 80 plus corner(i heard a tale that Lawrence said it could be taken flat and wanted to try it) Not in my car it cant!!!!
Ah, were you the guy in the yellow VX. Dont think i had a chance to chat to you. Good driving. I had a decent wee tusstle with you in the afternoon i think. Certainly the quickest VX i've seen driven on track yet. I was in the silver S1 with the roof off and no front plate. That cant have been your first trackday, surely??gordon wrote:ajvx wrote:Had a great day yesterday and thought my vx handled it very well
so i,m well chuffed, suppose the next step for me is KH , what's the best to book? HM?

Likewise I never saw it on track. I did have a chat to the guy (and loaned him a spanner for a weeping caliper) . Lovely install, the gear linkage with cables coming under the g/box looks a better solution than Maidstone etc.Shug wrote:Orange Exige didn't get the chance to open all the way - I never came across it on track, but Pauline was saying that the noise police were threatening to kick them off altogether if they used full revs.

I've got some video of you from the morning session. Think you were a good bit quicker in the afternoon though. You should join the Mexitowers list and get to Knockhill for that day. It will mainly be Elises there. That will prob be my only trackday this summer due to other commitments
Hi guys
im the man with the black ctr
my exhaust tested at 99 db at 4500 rpm well below the limit ,was told after dinner i was not allowed car on track
i must say sorry for holding a few up but i was trying to learn the track,
i did move over for the faster cars but if i thought we were evenly matched i moved but didnt slow down ,ended up getting my knuckles rapped for that,
had a good race with rox i think , but the concrete bumps after chicane and going into the next corner bounced the rear end up in air under heavy braking and i lost control of car ( slightly ) i got a big telling off for raceing him ,i said i didnt mind if he didnt but they didnt see it that way .
Has anyone got a picture or video of my car spitting flames ,ive been told a few times it does but never seen evidence
im also looking for a pic of my wifes red scoob if anybodys got one
thanks don r

Guys, I am certainly feeling the love!!!!!
Really good to see everyone getting on across a large section of clubs and marques. Driving standard was really pretty good.
Mutual respect, and i guess a lot of new people to the track.
Anyway, has to be said, the Elise R was simply beautiful, immaculate, and if it came up for sale i think myself and a few others would sell their bollock for it!!!!!
