Had a great day, apart from my wee oil surge which killed the revs
went off to get fuel and more oil. the stunners worked ok in the wet but were crap in the dry hence this little effort!:

busted!
few to many red flags in the last hour but couldnt be help, roll on the next one!

i blame the stunners! dont think it would have happened if i had the 48s on at the time. john seemed to enjoy it though!
have kept the stunners with almost 8mil on them, for wet weather/winter tyres/spares. if anyone needs to borrow/use them feel free to make a better attempt at killing them than i did. foc of course!

Yup, yet another great SIDC trackday. Well done John!
Exige was going pretty well although brakes not 100%. I think the original pads have taken their toll on the disks. New disks and RS14 probably next on the shopping list (after another set of rear 48's).
Tyre barriers were interesting, McIntyres not a problem, Chicane also not really an issue (just forced you to use the track not the grass)
The one at Duffus though (at the apex of the left kink) fairly focussed the mind.
I must admit I was taking it easy through the first half of Duffus because it was there (the good news is they were there for the racers in the afternoon and not a permanent trackday feature).
The Exige felt like a lard bucket after driving Pauls Caterham at the end though...easily 2-3 seconds quicker with plenty more to come. First time I've driven it on track (Alford on caravan tyres doesn't really count)
and running 48s the grip, corner speed and braking were on another level.
Gonna have to get one of those silly little cars.

I thought the same after the last Brunty KH event, where I went from Driving in Ed's exige to then Thinforth & Gordon's 7's. Bloody awesome cars!alicrozier wrote: The Exige felt like a lard bucket after driving Pauls Caterham at the end though...easily 2-3 seconds quicker with plenty more to come. Big thanks to John again. I think this was one of the best track days I have done at KH.
Might have been because my car felt great and no one passed me all day.
Got these vids off of SIDC forum. Good for timing you laps

Went to Perth for lunch on the way home then up to pitlochry to see a friend and then over Glenshee. Was really pushing hard with no traffic on the road coming up the south side of Glenshee nice dry sunny evening (5.30). Just as I came over the hill at Glenshee to see massive black clouds, Within 2 minutes the rain was so hard that the road was completely flooded. I had to pull over as the 38's were just aqua plaining even at 10 mph. I then had to try and put the Tonneau cover on from the inside and hide under it. By the time I got this done everything inside the car including myself was totally soaking. The heavy rain lasted for about half an hour, I was not fussed and still had a grin on my face.
The joys of having a 340r?

I overtook you when you reversed off at the hairpin...Scotty C wrote: Might have been because my car felt great and no one passed me all day.
(I had your brother on board and we'd went through 2 laps worth of blue flags so thought I'd better let you past into the hairpin.)

I came in after that and the guy in the box said " after all that hard work to get passed, you went and spun"alicrozier wrote:I overtook you when you reversed off at the hairpin...Scotty C wrote: Might have been because my car felt great and no one passed me all day.
