Think so mate - thats certainly the time it lists - last time recall we actually docked at 4am and disembarked at 6, but will look at it again to ensure I'm right. :thumbsup

Pretty sure that's right. We got that boat after the bilstervoorspa trip in the summer. Good ferry and sailing, quite cheap too. :8

So.... looking into booking ferries etc for this.
Unfortunately don't think I'd be up for doing Spa on the Sunday although could hang around to spectate as it sounds like it could be interesting....
Looking at the following options now:

Thursday night (16th)
DFDS Gordie express arriving morning 17th

Friday 17th
Drive to Nurburgring for lunch/lap if its open/available and a look around.
Proceed to hotel near Spa for the Saturday

Saturday 18th
Spa Track day
Option 1 leave for ferry either Zeebrugge-Hull at 2030hrs or Harwich ferry leaving 2200hrs
Option 2 stay for spectating/2nd day at spa with either of above ferries on the Sunday night.

Sunday 19th
Option 1 travel from ferry to hotel near Cadwell
Option 2 day 2 Spa followed by ferry..

Monday 20th
Cadwell Track day and drive home....

Anyone got hotel suggestions or different ideas?

Sounds good Simon. I like the ring idea and option 2. Like you I don't fancy 2 days at spa but would be happy to spectate.

Now Booked DFDS Newcastle to Amsterdam for Thursday 16th :)
For return to Cadwell though, Looking at the hook of Holland to Harwich option gets in at 06:30 (well disembark time) and still 3.5 hr drive...
For me better option is looking like Rotterdam to Hull (P&O)Sunday 19th departing 20:30 arriving 08:00 and only 1 hr drive to Cadwell so I'm going to book that one.
Up for that D? Anyone? :)

If anyone uses Quidco they are offering 4.4% cash back on the DFDS just now

Outbound booked:- Newcastle-Amsterdam DFDS Thursday 16th March 17:00
Return Booked :- Rotterdam - Hull P&O Sunday 19th March 20:30 (check in 90 mins before)

I have to be in NL earlier that week for work so I will just meet you lot at Spa / Nurburgring on the Friday.

Simon: like the sound of the 1hr drive to Cadwell. That ferry to Hull wasn't bad the last time I used it either. No queuing to get on.

It seems like best option to me Stewart. It's a little more expensive than the Harwich one ( about £35-40 basic) but I think probably worth it.
Both my ferries now booked so only Accommodation to think about now, (Could even stay near the Ring on the Friday night as its only 1.5hr drive if people wanted to.)

Definitely the best option, plus it's the closest ferry port to Spa for getting back to UK I stayed in the ring garage apartment earlier in the year. It's a pretty good place to stop in my view. There were a few restaurants nearby with good beer and pizza: https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Rev ... inate.html - it is also pretty good value for money when I was there.

Best get booking!

That all sounds like a good plan Simon. May even just stay both nights at the ring then maybe spend Sunday there or spectating at spa.

Does anyone remember the last time we stayed at the ring and drove to spa in the morning? It wasn't pleasant. There must be photos somewhere

I've looked to see if could book rooms at AM Tiergarten but it seems to be sold out completely already....or there is an issue with the booking system

Steak on stones though.....thought you were on a diet these days!?! :)

I'm happy to stay wherever really just thought I would put it forward as a suggestion. Would like to have it booked before end of the year as no doubt prices only going to go one way now.

the Hull ferry for the return is a better shout.

Not sure I can be arsed driving to the Ring for a look round though - can we get on there on the Friday? Weather will most likely be baltic.
