I'm moderately moist at the prospect of driving an ex F1 GP track in a racing elise.

See this 'arms must be covered' rubbish, how is harshly is that policed? I can't be eirsed wearing long sleeved tees if its going to be sweltering...

Greg, get into McArthur Glen Livingston, most of the outdoor shops are doing those lightweight tech T-shirts on sale, some have long sleeves. They dry fast (so the sweat will dissipate easy and you could even pack light and wash a couple through while you are away...or am I being too domesticated for you there!)

HTH.

It might be more so at Zandvoort...France tends to be a bit more relaxed.

Indeed - in fact after last Friday - I think i might start drinking again in about 6 years time  :damnfunny

I was thinking of the ferry as a few socials, rather than an all out session - but then I've been denied track lunacy for the last 6 months
looks like you had been denied 6 months of drinking when i saw you at 7pm friday night before you were asked to leave.
Scotty how much longer were we at Tiger Lily?? I have no recollection of getting home and no idea what time - Sophie slept in the spare room as i was so annoying when i got in

Will try and pace it on Thursday night - but first night over exuberance always gets the better of me!!

Does anyone have much experience with Swiss border control?

We're planning on passing through on the way back. The only problem is that I would appear to have forgotten to pay the court expenses that they subsequently sent me on top of my 600 euro on-the-spot fine a couple of years ago. oops.

From memory, border stops are pretty rare but there will be 3 cars which might increase the chances.

Any thoughts?

Greg,

Have driven plenty of french circuits bare foot in a shorts a T-shirt. Would not expect hassle at Zandvoort but best to pack one long sleeve shirt and trousers just in case - then you can change if they give you hassle or leave in the boot if they don't.

Gary,

Stay out of Switzerland :-) Seriously, I have no idea about border crossings, except that they were manned on the few times I have been into/out of Switzerland. I would not be surprised if they were to look for sporty cars and check them out.

Cheers,
Robin

The way round looks rather long. Possibly trying to do Annecy to Ijmuiden in a day in time for the ferry is too much or are we going for a 5am start?

I'm ok to leave earlier. Ali will be leaving early as well I guess so that he can get his service done.
Yeah, I'll be at MMC by 9am...bit early for you?
I probably won't be able to sleep the night before with all the excitement but I'll see what time Neil and Scotty are planning on leaving.
I'm now aiming to be at MMC at 10am - little bit of last minute TLC required for the car - air con so I dont cook in France. I'll probably be leaving Aberdeen at 8am.

Craig has said if anyone else is going to need anything done to their cars on Thursday morning, can they let him know asap as it's starting to get busy.
