Spa in March

Post by scottishselise » Fri Mar 09, 2012 5:38 pm

I thought there would be very little difference since there is little difference in dry performance.

Glad Neil - and others - stepped in. I think you have a clear steer now, Mikey!

There isnt a huge amount in it. The Ao48's are SLIGHTLY better in the dry. The reason i wentfor the 888's after i stopped racing was that i wouldnt miss the fraction of a second advantage in the dry, but the fractionally better wet weather ability might be the difference between aquaplaning or not. It IS marginal though, so if you bought the other ones, i wouldnt through them away.

Yep that's my real life experience of 888's and 48's too. :thumbsup

Cheers Dom.

Happy Birthday Neil :cheers
Shame youre probably running around like mad getting ready. I changed all the brakes yesterday and when I went to start the car all I got was the dreaded clicking noise. So battery charged hopefully just away to start it up.
Then just got to Bed in brakes, Asdas, Euros,Clothes, Confirmations, call mobile company, find passport, etc etc So Im as good as ready

And just away to try my new car phone charger holder I bought that looks perfect for an S1 :thumbsup

Oh and im needing a rear undertray bolt and clip as ones fallen off and the buzzing is driving me crazy. When you going to mmc? Did Stu get in touch about an earlier start?

I'd like to say I was ready... The car just needs fuelled and washed and it'll be good to go. I still have to find/pack my stuff which could take a while.
Yes Stu's been in touch about leaving earlier. I'll be at MMC at 10 so should be able to leave pretty early. Probably worth giving them a call to see if they can find you an undertray bolt. Plenty of time to bed in the brakes on the way.

Shame about the car in the wall - glad to hear it's dry ... Spa in the wet is awesome, but it's been wet/damp the last few times I've been, so a good dry day is great too ...
