Sprint at Ingliston - Confirmed date 21/10/07

Right,
Ive approached the above to enquire about us hiring the track area for a wee bit of sprinting.
They seem ok with this and will provide me with some dates.
The cost is roughly £340 so if we get 17 cars it will be £20 per car.
Obviously if we get less then it will be more.
My plan would be to set it up on the Saturday and then run the event on the sunday. It may be timed **not sure about this aspect yet***, one car at a time with practice in the morning and perhaps timed in the afternoon.
First i want to check that there is sufficient demand and then i will post again re the dates?!
So, what do you think?!
cheers Ed

Will timing be allowed Ed? Given we aren't an MSA recognised club (we're not a club just a collection of like minded individuals sharing a common space on the world wide web) and don't have licenses for speed event (well some do

)
Mac
PS: - I voted yes even if it's not timed

Dom is good at maths so we could ask him to stand at the side and count elephants?
I would be a definite yes, as it looked awesome fun when I watched at the MLR one last year.

Good point, not too sure.
The timing bit was just so i can laugh about how cr@p ddtb is.
Happy to ditch the timing aspect if im not allowed.
Obviously every one is responsible for their own actions etc etc!

Definate for me and probably one or 2 others if us heavy cars are allowed?!
BTW: There was supposed to be another MLR one in October but it got cancelled.

So your not talking about official timing then.
Shouldn't be a problem as long as it doesn't happen
Be rather coincidental if the finish point was within Sighting distance of the start

Exactly!
I certainly wasnt thinking about timing gear.
May just forget to remove a humble stop watch from the car!

Yeah, no probs with you evo boys as long as you steer clear of the grass!

It's not possible to hold a MSA approved sprint at Ingliston due to some muppet at the MSA having a strop with the Highland Society years ago and refusing to issue them with a sprint track licence for the venue just because they built a stand on the startline
I'll try and make it along with the autotest car for anyone not wanting to risk their p&j

£20 seems fine, less cars = more runs
