Slippery when wet...

Post by AiD » Sat Nov 24, 2007 6:35 pm

the curbs were today, as I found out the hard way (or fun way considering there was no damage done!). :D

Image

This was this morning on the novice track day (not SIDC). I took abit too much curb on the way in, back end slid out then combination of too much opposite lock and lifting off the gas... off we go!

Thank god for gravel pits!

Was nice to meet you in the f-f-f-f-f-freezing cold this afternoon, Alistair. Glad to hear you popped your TD cherry in the morning :)

Nice effort :D . Just look at the water running down the track  Very tricky conditions for your first TD.

It's nice to find the limits of the car (and perhaps ability) in the relatively safe environment of the track.

Cracking shot too - I guess it's from a camera phone - really catches the moment :D

The light down the side of your car's nice too

Was nice to meet you Alistair. How did your pics come out? Hope to catch you at the next trackday. It was definitely interesting, first trackday in the wet.

Hello everyone, 1st post 8)

My wife Lynda was also taking part in the morning for her first trackday. She was doing really well building up confendece lap after lap with the odd controlled drift . Near the end i went to sign on for the SIDC afternoon and she went out for one final play going faster and faster into Duffius, and then the rain came

I was standing with Kenny in the pit lane watching her going into duffius and then the red flag went out, it was one of those ones where you just knew it had to be her

Excellent pic, think this one will be getting framed

The bolts holding up the mat against the tyres left a nice score most the way along the side just below the bump strip, hoping most of it will T-Cut out!

Will need to get her back out soon as she really enjoyed it up to that point

If that's the car with the ring sticker on the back then it looked like it was going well - good effort :-)

Like you say, the key is to learn from it but not put you off ...

Cheers,
Robin

Cheers Robin, yes she was doing great and the car was going well however i will now need a new set of front tyres and pads

It was a shame it happened at the very end as that is the way she remembers the day now, will get her back out on track soon but she can use her own car next time

Good effort Alistair, beats mine - same place some time later

Nice to meet you, and I see the mud has already gone.
Car is looking 8) (but it's in my space   )

scib4 :welcome and commiserations to Lynda.

Conditions for the Novice session were awful, at least next time they should be better (maybe  )

Lynda

Don't let it put you off, at least it wasn't your car

Cheers
