SE Kames day *26th April*

The Ingleston thread reminded me I'd to call a friend in the EACC comittee back about the possibility of having an SE sprint day there this year.

Last years prices, which should be finalised for 2008 this Thursday at the club AGM, were £350 for the day's hire, plus £175 to cover the cost of the track's insurance. As numbers would be limited to 30, and I'd be expecting at least 20 cars, the cost of the track hire for the full day would be between £17.50 and £26.25 per person plus a one off fee of £20 to join East Ayrshire Car Club.

This £20 fee means you can take part in the ten or so track days/evenings the club will be holding through 2008 as well as any other competitive event held by EACC such as grass tracking.

As Kames is a sprint track, only one car at a time is allowed on track. Three laps at a time is the usual way things are run, after which you are free to join the que to get back on track again. Kames can now be run in both clockwise and anti-clockwise directions to make things a bit more interesting. EACC will provide marshalling equipment and two registered first aiders in addition to at least one club director being on hand.

My plan would be to do it on a Saturday, starting at around 10 am running in one direction. Break for lunch, which would probably be a BBQ in the best SE Dukes Pass stylee tradition (there are not a lot of facitities at Kames or in the village). After lunch the track could be set up to run in the opposite direction until about half 4. Afterwards, head down to the more civilised parts of the Ayrshire badlands for a bit to eat and a bit of Killie pinting (Just for you Jon :D ).

If your keen, add your name below and vote a date! :D

The poll closes in 5 days so I can speak to Gordon again about getting a free track date and firm prices asap after the AGM.

If I can get the car running in time and as per our chat on the phone I would be up for this. can't do the 22nd but other than that I'm good for the other 3 dates.

If anyone needs a place to kip/park for the beers in Killie my place is available and about as central as you get. but please note. women will be given priority ;)

I'm interested too.

Word of advise; having run events there in the past, be wary of EACC agreeing a price before an event, only to up it afterwards!

Wow a min Dom, theres more to that than EACC changing the price.

The prices will be set in stone on Thursday coming. Gordon Alexander will be looking after this for me. He's confident as the vice-chairman that if they do differ from last years it will not be significant. Bear in mind that other clubs will be paying far more for the full use of the facilities as they will have the cafe open, people in to watch, show & shine etc... I didn't think there'd be much demand for show and shine (J33ama?) nor the numbers to warrant the club cafe being opened, so the lower price was agreed on.
