KH SIDC Today

Post by Brian J » Sat Mar 15, 2008 7:09 pm

Thanks again to John S for excellent day - driving, weather, organisation.

Had to leave at 4.00pm to get back to Glasgow but enjoyed final session chasing Mass in his Club Racer - great fun :)

Roll on Donington.

Thanks to Ed and Frank for the passenger laps :thumbsup Exige S was amazing . . . I want one! Felt really planted in the corners and I love the whine of the supercharger. Ed . . . what can I say . . . that wee cateringvan is great and that was some quality sideways (and spinny spinny) action at the hairpin! 8)

Good to catch up with a few folk too . . . it's been a while!

First time on KH for me in a couple of years . . . just popped by in passing for a wee scoot in my wee sisters Exige S (is that what the supercharged one is called ?) . . . nice wee car, the TC interferes with really mullering it (I worked out that something was interfering with my control on lap 2 then realised what it must be) and I think prevents you from dialling out the understeer (hairpin and entry to Macintyres in particular) . . . and I think for me it certainly slows progress a litte and makes the car feel very heavy (being used to he caterham perhaps it is) . . . but nice, quick and grippy and easy to drive . . . that's enough KH for me for a while ;-)

Great Day guys,

Thoroughly enjoyed my first Lotus Track Day @ KH today, great bunch of guys, real friendly & the track etiquette was ace. I know I was slow round the track, but just let the guys past on the straights & when I could, & in return they were patient & waited until I moved over for them. Fantastic Fun

I really want to learn how to get thro those bends quick..? I just couldn't get thro quick enough..I might go up for some 1 to 1 training before the next SIDC day.

Would like to get some pax laps in the faster cars next time, you know exiges, caterhams...Atoms.. :thumbsup

Cheers,
Pete

About time I posted this year.
Had a great day today despite turning up just after 1 after frantically trying to fix my wiper motor.
Other than that my car was going great, pleased to see my old K series still manages to get me round the track faster than these supercharged toyotas :D
The laps behind then in front of the club racer (not sure which one it was) and with Dave in his 7 were great fun, not easy trying to keep up with them though :thumbsup

Roll on the next one :)

I was expecting rain but it stayed dry all day. Lucky!

I did 150 laps today. Used 85ltrs of fuel.

Good too meet some old and new faces. Brian, sorry I couldn't say hello. Campbell (Meatball), it was nice to do some laps with you. Wished we could do a bit more though. May be next time...

I will be there for the next HM. Come and say hi if you are up there.

John, thank you for the great day! I intend to do all the SIDC days this year.

Mass

Another great SIDC day, big thumbsup to John Stewart once again for organising a great event. Driving standards seemed good once again, although I think the VX driver who passed me on the right on one of the warm-up laps might have got a bit excited...

Enjoyed my time out on track today, had a lot of fun trying to chase down Mass in the Club Racer, nice to meet you and John, the famous CR twins :) Good to see the usual turnout, and as always, nice to meet a few new faces.

Will try and edit some of my video footage later, should be plenty of Lotus stuff in there :D

You could take the TC off by pressing the button for a few seconds. I agree, the car drives better without it.
