Almost all were removed after outrage and ridicule on every car forum in the UK, I think users on Pistonheads even comlplained to the MSA and Knockhill were in danger of losing their insurance cover IIRC.

My first ever trackday was a Hot Hatch Day (now the Speed Sundays) before it got really bad - spent weeks prepping an XR2i and on the first lap some t1t in a ropey old XR2 drove into me when he dived down the inside and tried to pass going into a corner. Back in the paddock he tracked me down to reminisce about how awesome it was when he hit me...

My wheel bearing collapsed shortly afterwards so I survived the rest of the day. Quite glad really.
