Track day preference 2009

Post by allyrennie » Mon Sep 22, 2008 11:32 am

Morning all,

Probably going to try and arrange a track day for next year now, but hey nothing better than trying to be a bit prepared!!!

As it would be the first I have organised, I would like the opinions of those who regularly take time at Knockhill.

So, the questions as follows then:-

Evening or weekend morning session?

length of time preferred for the session?

Car limit? Obviously this changes the price but would rather give people what they wanted...

Any other points or considerations guys?

Would be limiting it to the SE forum and also clients, so no rage buggies then ( where have these gone btw?!? )

Mass, your booked anyway, not sure when its going to be etc but your name is down already....

They do, and will be cheaper than weekends. Downside is you will find it harder to fill the spaces.

Afternoon weekend 4 hour session is best for me. Numbers will probably be the same as most other trackdays and be dictated by the money required to cover costs, SIDC prices of around £110 for 4hours or £60 for 2hours should see it full.

What about preference to number of cars then? ( I know it changes the price etc but want to make sure I get it right for the majority )

I Know Tut would like to to be around 180 cars, he likes the challenge!!

for a 4 hour session 50 cars is about right, doubt if you will get 50 cars through just this site though.

Should be close to 50 by the time you combine SE with Jocks 7's!

Ally

Just been talking to KH. They will not have their calendar for event bookings for next year until November, and from experience you have to get in quickly if you want to try and get your own dates and times. John Stewart normally books four sessions for SIDC.

You also have to beware of KH fatigue, and also the effect that the ecomomy is having on peoples pockets regarding fuel and trackday costs.

Don't want to step on your toes, but as you will not be able to confirm anything until November, there could be something happening in June.
