I'm sure there was a time they were experimenting with using crystalline pig's urine as a replacement for natural salt ... it has a lower freezing point and is a fair bit cheaper (if you consider the cost of disposing of it in other ways).
Not sure about the smell though!
It seemed to work but did provide a strong farmyard smell when it found its way into the front clam/radiator then vented into the car .
In the spirit of christmas.....I think we should all sign up for Sunday and take an eclectic mix of unsuitable track cars and mix it with the poor people
(Disco with the Air Suspension on Access setting and the box in Sportronic mode would take a bit of beating in the snow
