KH tomorrow

Post by tut » Sat Feb 28, 2009 8:34 pm

Got a mail from Gemma that they have a weirdo Sunday trackday tomorrow. 1320 to 1700, 20 min sessions for three groups of cars.

1. Formula Ford single seaters.
2. Saloon cars with racing licences.
3. Cars with tax and MOT.

Having missed out now on Oulton, Anglesey and Cadwell, I really would like to get on track, so I will probably take a run down if the weather is reasonable. I can go the back roads so that would give a good run anyway and check out my back, it wont cost me, and I could do Groups 2 & 3 with a 20 min break, which is almost open pit lane.

If anybody is around I will have an empty pax seat.

I got that e-mail from Gemma too...Thinking of popping up to try out my new SLR (alas, camera and not a Se7en... :) )

Will chuck my lid in the boot too, and might grab a few laps in-between, if that's okay with you?

Forecast is 60% light rain, drying out as the day goes on... :thumbsup

First thing that popped into my head was that it is a speed sunday event because of the 20min sessions

Its not a Speed Sunday, but they are quiet at the moment, so a bit of a one off. The first two Groups are for drivers with racing licences, the third for road cars, though no doubt there will be a Speed Sunday element.

However Gemma said that bookings are quiet, so should not be manic. The racing drivers are probably using it for practice, so if Ian is there and Wullie in Race Control, I may be able to get extra track time.

If I do go along I will be leaving about 0900, so will post on here first.

Hm, depending on weather and progress with chores etc, might pop over for a nosey.

Tut...BE CAREFUL. You are barely back to match-fit and IIRC you aren't really meant to be larging it just yet. I take it you have told Verian what you are *really* going to be doing on Sunday? ;-)

PS how was the young fella's 16th then??

LOL.

I only asked for the one ;-)

I think judging by the fact that there is no post from his Tutness describing the involvement of local constabulary, fire or ambulance services on the night, all went well! My main concern is that Tut Towers remains standing long enough to stage another party for the grown-ups, never mind these crazy teenagers...

Nope, the police were here Campbell.

There was a large turn out, but unfortunately no pics. Clare found the Webcam in the girls bathroom, and Verian hid the camera and my phone as she said no way was one DOM taking photos for his DOM friends. Would have been almost impossible though as they were packed in the conservatory and play room, and also out on the patio. Could have had one beaut though when I took Khan out in the back garden and nearly tripped over a lassie on her knees doing rude things to her BF. Asked her her name but got no reply.

Ian was acting as bouncer to keep the Chavs away and stop any fights, and sure enough a carload turned up half piss*d, and were shown the gate. Unfortunately one of Lukes friends went with them, and he then got a call to say that the driver had smashed the car less than a mile down the road. The police were soon on the job, and it turned out that he had "borrowed" a friends car without his permission, so he got the lot, dangerous driving, theft, drink, insurance, and he was either banned or had just come off one.

They came around, and Ian told them that it was his party to get around the alcohol legality, so they were happy with that but suggested that we call it a night at 0100, which I was happy with as the music was bloody awful.

Other than that they all had a good time, and some of them got together at the end with Amber and cleaned up.

Decided that regardless of the scan results I am not going to stop tracking anyway, so KH is probably better than anywhere for the first track day for a while, and I can always drive at 90%.

Anybody awake in the Dunfermline area for an update on the weather?

Forecast is for sunny periods, but it is drizzling here at present.

tut,

Here is the Linlithgow forecast for today...we are looking at putting the kids on the back of the bikes, Lisa is unsure but I am tempted to go for it...

Or go here and look up the Glenfarg cameras on M90, they are only a few miles as crow files from KH:

Seems the morning and early PM could be the best of the day.
