The Ultimate Trackday - Palmersport

Post by Andy G » Wed Mar 11, 2009 6:11 pm

Hi Guys

Not sure if you've seen this before, but its the bets trackday using other peoples car I've ever done by a mile, and the instructers push you all the way to your limits. Its not cheap at £560+ VAT, but trust me, its the ultimate day out!

http://www.palmersport.com/pistonheads.aspx

Did it with Sony last year, and dying for another chance to do it.

You got to drive;

7's
Clio Cup Cars
911 GT3
JP1 (stunning mini lemans cars with massive poke)
Formula Palmer Audi (FPA) Cars - mini f1 style - epic - they measure your telemetry (trophy still in the lounge  )
Landy Defender
XKR-s race cars

Not sure if anyone fancies it but Pistonheads are organising it. Would fancy it if i wasnt going on holiday on the Sunday
AMG GT-R
Atom 4 - CM425
Lotus Esprit S4S
G30 M5 Comp
Ferrari 599
Lotus Elise S1 "Shed" spec

Done a couple of them in diff cars, they change each year, bought my elise after driving one there in 2000. Absolute genius day out, no tyre sympathy at all and you are pushed very hard by the instructors. Clio Cup with the sequential box was rather fun as was the 7 on the slalom course "set up for oversteer". One of the things that sets you aside is the fact the you are never left standing around waiting for "your turn", there are fillers ranging from competition to change a FPA wheel, karting etc. Worth every penny of someone else's money.

they can try all they like, but i can afford a palmersport trackday, and i can barely afford one round of the FPA series. Trust me, i have already enquired. If anybody else is up for this, i might be tempted to go for it, and go halfers on travel and accomodation?

Day before Mother's Day Neil, or I might have come along with you to make a weekend of it, and hold your jacket while you were whizzing round ;-)

It's only £80k a season... :P

(+ VAT)

I would actually be up for this, had I not been going offshore on Tuesday...

(Can't amp3 organise a day there...???  )

For some weird reason the JP1 appeals more than the FPA...(Although they turned the boost down on the FPA's on Palmersport days, so they must be mental... )

Some day...
