Knockhill today 14th March

Post by David » Sat Mar 14, 2009 6:43 pm

A good dry day, albeit a bit windy. A busy track made for a few traffic problems and a few red flags but got one or two good laps in. There seemed to be some oil (?) dropped around the track which made life interesting - a few offs. But generally a good day. Anyone else go?

Wish I was there. Washed the CR instead......

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Two and a half hours is fine on a warm summer evening but quite short if you've got to travel any distance - strangely I enjoyed the wet last week more. Looking forward to SIDC.

I went along today.
Fully booked which made for a busy afternoon.

Driving was pretty dire for the first 30 minutes with three red flags within the first 15 minutes.
Marshalls were not using blue flags which was a pity :(

Blue VXT,Silver Civic Type R both driven like fannies without rear view mirror causing long tailbacks.......

Had a cup of coffee and went back out to find a space and had an entertaining time mixing it with the well driven caterhams.

On the new Yokohama C drives.........I now have huge lift off oversteer that I did not have before......but very entertaining and mostly catchable
Probably need to fiddle about with rear tyre pressures as 26 felt too firm
Mostly dry and very blusterly but enjoyable none the less... and certainly beats the gardening that I was meant to be doing this afternoon

Beautiful Orange GT3 on track this afternoon which was a pleasure to watch

:cheers

Yes, it was a great day, apart from my flamin' punctures!

The Lambo was just awesome, unfreakin bellevably fast everywhere.

Yes, there was some interesting driving, saw one of the Evos almost wipe someone out and got a real laugh when a fiesta ST tried to outbrake me and almost ended up off the track. Funniest bit was heading up the main straight and seeing the black (new) S3 coming out the pit. Commented to my Pax on it, headed down duffus and it was gone. WTF? Then noticed it parked in the mud at the bottom. It had only just come out the pit!

Hmmm......I was told (wrongly) that the car was gone.
