novice bike tracknight - 14th of July

Post by mckeann » Mon Jun 29, 2009 12:07 pm

ddtb, jon, donkey, anybody else who is a novice biker!!!!

Knockhill are running a 2 hour novice session on tuesday the 14th of July. Somewhat ambitiously, i'm aiming to be there. Bearing in mind that i don't even have a bike yet, never mind any actual proper experience, I've already been told i'm daft. Never the less, if i can get my bike tonight (go on dave :thumbsup ) and get some miles in during the next 2 weeks, i hope to be there.

Anybody else fancy joining me??

Its 70 quid, for 2 hours, 6pm till 8pm, so i'm assuming the numbers are fairly restricted due to the novice nature. I've not booked yet, going to see how the next 2 weeks go on the road, but fingers crossed.

Anybody up for it??

There were boys there with generators and tyre warmers - novice it twas not.

Jon - shifting yours would mean actually accepting someone's offer - you're aware of that ?

Fair play to you for having a bash, but anyone who chooses not to join you is certainly not a woofter in my book.

It's not often I'm serious, and I really don't want to sound patronising, but I know how competitive you are and it's scary :) I've got to say I'd hate to think there was any part of you that felt under pressure from SE to live up to your reputation here. Nobody here will think less of you if you take it steady and don't hit the track for a year or two. If it was your first car trackday, you'd at least want to not be thinking about which gear you were in...

Forget lap times or any of that usual bravado stuff. Enjoy, but go slow and take care mate. :thumbsup

Thanks dad.

Nobody on hear has mentioned bike trackdays to me. I'm the one looking to get on one asap, i think it'll be a good place to learn in relative safety. And do you really think i'm competitive/stupid enough to go racing people on my first bike trackday with 2 weeks experience? You dont think much of me do you :P

Cool. I'm fine with you ploughing into the tyrewall knuckles-first as long as I don't have to stand in the SE corner at your funeral having the "Do you think we're somehow responsible?" chat. My conscience is clear now, so have fun!
