Knockhill Hot Marques 19th September

Post by Rob E » Sun Sep 06, 2009 8:54 pm

Various work and family commitments have stopped me putting the VX220 on track this summer, but I've just signed up to "pop my KH cherry" on Saturday 19th. Anybody on here going to be there who would be willing to talk me round the first few laps? Very apprehensive but having driven the Atom round Elvington, I feel I have to have a shot at a real track in my own car.

SIDC is on the 19th in the morning (9am-1pm), I think most will be at that :)

Mass will probably hang around though if there is another session after SIDC ;)

As above

Go to the SIDC day in the morning - free instruction from Knockhill people and a lot less likely to get driven into by a moron.

Book here

Look under trackdays and as a non-member.

Hi Rob

Happy to take you out, show you the way round, and then come out at some point if you can make the SIDC session?

I'm going to be up there hopefully with Mrs G for her first taste of track driving :thumbsup

Andy,

Thank you for the offer and apologies for not getting back sooner - its been a busy week. Unfortunately, I have to be here 'til about 11:30am next Saturday. Will blast over to KH asap but I fear I'm just going to have to go for it on my own. When I was driving the Atom, I think the cars that came past me were being driven by the instructors. If not, I'm going to be Capt. Slow and spoil the the afternoon for everyone.

Cheers, Rob

The SIDC session doesn't finish until 1pm so if you get there as soon as you get off work, there will be a few of us who will take you out for sighting laps.

I will be in the CR.

Give me a shout.

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Hi Mass,

That would be brilliant and greatly appreciated. I reckon I should be ok but some coaching from an experienced KH driver would definitely boost my confidence - I know I would have crashed the Atom at Elvington were it not for sage words in my ear like - "too soon, get straight before you hit the pedal!" I'll high tail it from EK at 11:30 but on recent experience it'll be quicker to come the long way round over the Forth Bridge rather than get stuck in the roadworks at Cumbernauld.

Thanks for the post, Rob
