Spa trackdays

Thinking about doing Spa this year - anybody had any good or bad experiences with trackday organisers there?

Lotus on track always put on a good day there - they used to share with AutoTrack (I think) but now have sufficient numbers not to bother. Driving standards generally very good - no do-or-die outbreaking into the corners. Of course Spa is a funny circuit in a normal-ish Elise - you can be going quickly in the corners and passing people, only for them to blat past you on the straights ... sometimes you get people that just will not get out of the way, but a trip through the pitlane or a word in the ear of the organizers can sort that out. OTOH if you have a powerful car, you'll be the person blitzing past on the straights ;-)

I have never ever had a bad day at Spa - it's just a great circuit and always fun, wet or dry. One of these days I'll muster the courage to do Eau Rouge flat ...

Cheers,
Robin

I think it depends on what you expect from trackdays. If you like the gentle overtaking rules of britain, stick to a british organiser. If you dont mind a mini race scenario, go with a european organiser.

I like the Lot days as the cars are quite well balanced, and i know alot of the people, but you still get the odd numpty that wont get out your way on the straights and need a little persuasion :D

I have been 3 times with autotrack. The organisation has always been good. The marshals seem to be pretty lax with the overtaking rules. Which is a good thing as the Porche owners really dont like you passing them in a crappy Subaru.

I could not reccomend going to spa enough. Its an epic circuit. Its worth the journey just for En Rouge.

Echo the comments above, its a great circuit with lots of variety and bits to learn. I went with RMA - they ran a tight ship, can't fault them. It was very wet in the morning of the session and a couple of cars had prangs - an X150, a Ferrari 355 and a 911 GT3 - and I think this calmed folks down a bit. By later in the afternoon, it had pretty much dried up and lots of folk had gone home, so we had the place pretty much to ourselves.

Not in the Elise that time - GT3 was the right choice :D

I can just imagine Jen, Nicola and Tracey driving through Europe in a van. The sunday is me and Jen's wedding aniversary, Nothing says happy aniversary better than leaving your wife in France with a van, so that we can drive to Spa for a trackday.

Went to Spa last October with circuit-days who did an all enclusive, 2 days at spa, accomadation, and ferry for £999. Very well organised and good group of people. Will be booking with them again this year to do the 2 days in Oct but its not all inclusive like last year so will need to arrange own ferry+accomadation.

If you do track days then Spa is the track to do before you die kinda thing.

Yes, Falkland performance do it for me. When I first got the car it felt a bit unsettled, and 'hunted' when driving on the motorway. Kevin at Falkland checked it out and the settings were very aggressive (lots of camber IIRC). I had some settings from a mate who also had a GT3, they pretty much tied up with the factory settings and the car felt really sorted after I'd had it done.

Very happy with it!

Cheers

Thats a shedload of cash for a spa trackday, assuming it was a dover ferry not a rosyth one, and u werent staying in the penthouse suite of a 5 star hotel?

With LoT, trackday is approx 200 each, ferry is 50, 2 nights in a reasonable hotel is 120. 570 all in. Off course, by the time u add petrol, tyres, brakes, toe links, food and beer, your looking at 1500
