Brian J Trophy at SIDC on Saturday

Post by Shug » Wed Mar 24, 2010 9:58 am

If you've not been following developments on the trophy we've had made in memory of Brian Jamieson, it looks like the SIDC on Saturday will be the first opportunity we'll have to award it. Not sure how people are thinking WRT awarding - obviously will be better to do it on the day, but that'll only really happen if we have one member that goes above and beyond and really goes to town on the 'best dressed' front.

Also, should be just for people participating in the day - the comedy value is lower if you're just turning up (I'll be coming through in biking leathers with a tie, but that's just a tribute, I won't be entering myself) So, we're looking for the smartest dressed driver. I dread to think what some of you will turn up in, but let's all make an effort eh? Even it's just chucking a tie on.

Perhaps in the first instance, we'll just decide between tut and I (I hope that's alright with everyone) and award on the day. I should be there about half way through the day and if you don't think I've seen you, please come and introduce yourself - I look like my avatar minus the hair and the Hitler tashe, if you've never met me, and I will be in black Spada leathers.

Let's all put an effort in - I can just imagine Brian smiling away at a pitlane full of suited up drivers

Thanks for posting Shug, better than the reminder that I was going to put up.

I am sure that we will have the usual S_E response to something like this, especially on the first occasion of the award of Brian's cup. I don't even posses a suit, so my idea of smart attire will not be the norm, but I am sure that Brian would appreciate it.

Just hope he has some control of the weather up there.

Cheers

tut

ps could you edit your post pease Shug from Sunday to Saturday.

Sadly, I wont be there on Saturday, due to prior commitment in London, and the car still being at Lotus!

However, I would have been appearing in a white tuxedo, with a dickie bow.................................

Hopefully there will be many photos posted, and yes, I am sure Brian would have appreciated the sight of us normally scruffy drivers dressed to the eyeballs!!!
