TrackScotland Knockhill Track Afternoon - Thursday 21st July

Post by TrackScotland » Wed Jun 15, 2011 8:21 pm

TrackScotland are running a track afternoon on Thursday 21st July 2011.

We are using this trackday as a fundraising event for 'TrekScotland' with a raffle and donations for additional drivers and passengers.
TrekScotland are raising money towards the Colin McRae Vision
See here for more details - http://www.trackscotland.co.uk/trekscotland/index.htm

TRACKDAY

* Open Pit lane 2 hour session from 6-8pm
* £70 per CAR
Tickets for the 2 hour session can be ordered via
Track Scotland Shop

The Online Booking uses PayPal ONLY, so you can only use Credit/Debit Cards VIA PAYPAL FUNDING OPTIONS. If you would prefer not to use PayPal, cheques or bank transfer will be fine. Email for details. fee@trackscotland.co.uk

ADDITIONAL DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS
For this trackday, and the rest of our trackdays this year, we will be asking for donations from additional drivers and passengers to go towards our fundraising efforts for TrekScotland.
We would suggest a £10 donation for additional drivers and an open donation for passengers, to be given at sign on. I will be there to badger you!

RAFFLE
We are also holding a raffle for the trackday. Tickets are £10 each and can be bought through the online shop.

----> BUY A RAFFLE TICKET HERE <----

Once you have bought your ticket(s) you will be emailed with an order confirmation number - this is your raffle ticket number

All raffle ticket numbers will be put into a hat and picked at random.

Multiple raffle tickets can be bought under the same order number, we will simply put more than one of the order number into the hat.

PRIZES

First Prize - Free TrackScotland Trackdays for 2012
The prize allows the winner to attend all TrackScotland dates organised at Knockhill in 2012 with ONE car free of charge.
The prize is not transferable and can only be used by the winner on trackdays in 2012.

Second Prize - Passenger Laps with Gordon Shedden
We are offering one lucky winner the chance to win a hot lap with Honda’s British Touring Car Driver Gordon Shedden. Gordon will whizz the winner around the track in his Honda Civic.
We are hopeful that this will be able to happen on the day of the trackday but unfortunately Gordon cannot 100% confirm his availability until nearer the time. If he cannot attend on the day, the passenger laps will be arranged for a mutually suitable time.

Third Prize - TrackScotland embroidered shirt!
The third winner will receive a lovely black shirt with TrackScotland embroidered logo and name :)

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch :)

Come on, come on !!!

We need more bookings!

This is for a good cause. Dig deep, book on the trackday or even just make a donation (http://trackscotland.co.uk/trekscotland/donate.htm)

We'd appreciate it if anyone could spread the word too :)

I'm seriously tempted by this - But;

a) I haven't driven KH since September 2004...

(Or on any track since borrowing Robin's car at Spa in October 2009...)

Therefore I'm likely to be stupidly rusty at driving fast... :(

and

b) My car is a shed of an MX5, and completely bog standard - I fear it would be a mobile chicane.

What sort of driving etiquette might one find on a TrackScotland event? Anyone else thinking of going? (Especially anyone I might know - You'll need to remind me which way the track goes... )

I know I may be biased, but the driving etiquette on our days is generally very good.
I'm on track as well, so would prefer not to have nuggets driving around me!

With it being a 4 hour event, it tends to be very relaxed and not too crowded out on the circuit. The first and last 15 minutes are usually the busiest, but in the middle it is a lot more relaxed on track.

We usually have a few novices, so there is no issue if you are a bit rusty.
I'm sure it will come back quickly though!

Cheers

Thanks Fee - Took the plunge and booked on the 2 hour session. (Did consider the 4 hour, but am not sure how well myself / the car will hold up! :blackeye )

Looking forward to it -

Twill take you half a dozen laps to get back into it Ross.

The difference between your driving in the first few years that I knew you, then after your Academy experience, was night and day.

I've heard KH's a lot easier these days... :P

Nah - If I keep it out the wall, and don't blow the drivetrain up, I'll be quite happy... :)

Any other SE'ers going??

For those of you that have not yet checked your email, and for those of you who are considering booking on....we have sent out the following announcement
We am very sorry to have to let you know that due to a lack of numbers
we have had to reduce our 4 hour track session on Thursday to a 2 hour
only session, running from 6-8pm.

Unfortunately we have just not received the bookings to make the 4
hour session viable and we are not in a position to subsidise the cost
ourselves after having to do this for our May date. We have discussed
the options at length with Knockhill and this is the only solution
that was mutually acceptable.

We had hoped that promoting the event as a charity trackday would help
us get the numbers required and help to raise funds towards our
fundraising efforts but, to be honest and transparent, we remain
nearly £2,000 short of Knockhill's fee for the 4 hour event.

We appreciate that this is not an ideal situation and one which we
would very much have liked to avoid.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.
Not ideal, but unfortunately could not be avoided
