The Murray Lotus & AMP3 Charity Trackday 2011!
The Murray Lotus & AMP3 Charity Trackday 2011!
Yes, we’re doing it again folks!
This year, we’re supporting the British Heart Foundation after my Dad’s death last year. He suffered a sudden and massive heart attack, with no warning. There’s not always a second chance, so we need to continue research into all of the causes and support education into avoiding the risks of heart disease in the UK. It’s our biggest killer and BHF supports research into the causes and education on the best ways to avoid this very real killer. Please take a minute to check out the BHF site here: http://www.bhf.org.uk/
The Murray Lotus & AMP3 Trackday – Friday 23rd September 2011:
This will take place at our friendly neighbourhood Knockhill Racing Circuit in Fife – Knockhill have again frozen their track fees to allow us to contribute 100% of money generated by this event straight to the charity.
Even better – our local main dealer, Murray Lotus, have sponsored the track action this year – so huge thanks to them for this major financial input into the day. Murray staff will be on hand throughout the event and they are hoping to have some very special cars to display – these are TBC, but should be special!
The After Party – Boroughmuir Rugby Club, Collington Road, Edinburgh (From 7:30pm)
Arrive sharp to get your expertly cooked food and take advantage of the bar at rugby club prices! We’ll be hosting our fantastic raffle and auction again this year – with lots and lots of incredible stuff to tempt you. Our suppliers are always hugely generous with the donations of product and we get offered all sorts of special, one-off things to auction off – you can get a bargain and 100% of the money you hand over goes straight to the charity!
Times:
Friday 23rd September – Knockhill
2:00pm Sign-on starts
3:00pm Track opens
5:00pm Track event ends
7:30pm Evening event starts at Boroughmuir
Minimum donations:
Track Fee - £75 per car (second driver free)
Passengers - £10 per passenger wristband (payable on the day if you're not sure - no real limit on pax wristbands)
Party contribution - £10 per person
How to sign up?
Email me at shug@amp3.co.uk with your username on here, plus your real name please. Once I’ve confirmed that there is a place available for you, then donate the fees to the Virgin Money Giving page here: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/AMP3Trackday
The minimum donations are just that – we’ve had some very generous amounts donated in the past (email me direct if you’d like to make an anonymous donation as well)
We’ve changed to Virgin Money Giving this year as they are a non-profit organisation – we can be sure that everything goes straight to the charity.
The target for this year is £10,000 – it’s a bold goal, but with everyone’s help, we can manage it. If you’ve got any fundraising ideas or even raffle or auction prizes, please get in touch with me on my shug@amp3.co.uk address – everything helps to this goal!

Re: The Murray Lotus & AMP3 Charity Trackday 2011!
Not Lotus only no, but neither is it a hot-hatch day
For information, we've had everything from MX5s to Lambo Diablo SVs.

Also we dont promote this to any other forums other than SE. Most other non-Loti's are either friends or friends of SEShug wrote:Not Lotus only no, but neither is it a hot-hatch dayFor information, we've had everything from MX5s to Lambo Diablo SVs.

Should be another great day, for another great cause

Re: The Murray Lotus & AMP3 Charity Trackday 2011!
Ian unfortunately can not make it this year, he lied to me by saying that he had mowed his lawn to get me to book him on the SIDC day.
Went round today and the grass was knee high so he is grounded. Bloody embarrassing though, door was locked so I could not get in, bursting for a pee so went into the back garden, back door opens and his house mate who has never met me before is faced by a stranger watering his lawn.

Excellent News,
Have been fed up at the thought of missing out on amp3 as wasnt expecting to have wheels organised in time for the usual august offering. Just need to get the little matter of signing up, oh yeah, and the baby delivered, and then I can get wheels.
Can somebody organise Andy a set of goggles, can still remember him battling through the smoke, eyes watering like crazy, trying to cook the burgers every time the wind changed direction.
cheers
