Ingliston sprint - TrackScotland 4/9/11

Post by David » Mon Sep 05, 2011 10:18 am

Went along to this not knowing what to expect. It turnred out to be fun event and very informal - but very competitive  . I think I was the only SE'er there and the R400 came away with the 3rd fastest time of the day and 1st in class.

next time I think I'll have to get someone to manage the timing all day so I can get some more runs in.

I'm positive I an get into the 1:04's LOL

I still had 3/4 of a tank of fuel and easy bits of weight to remove in the car (pas seat etc).

I was trying very hard at times though - my offs were gradually getting later and later into the lap.

1st on the coned right hander - slippy early on
2nd on the tight slow hairpin
3rd exiting the banked righthander flat out in 2nd sideways
4th and 5th were on the end section of the long left hander. 1st was just too much throttle mid corner and the car going into a drift that ended up with a fish tail. Second was just losing it whilst turning hard on the brakes.

By the end of the day I was getting a nice line onto the start/finish straight.... dab of brakes and an early turn in got the car nicely sideways and pointing roughly in the right direction for full throttle exit :D

Looks like fun Dave.

Were there many cars?

:cheers

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

:thumbsup They are using the same layout as we used to run.

If there was enough SE interest I could arrange one for autumn or spring?

Was a top day indeed. Was there with my mate in his Fiat coop.

Well seeing the only 2 attendees posted so far are the ones to have been doing pirouettes on the grass

David, your R400 looked mega fun. Been looking at 7's since i got home!

Did you get any comeback from the owners regards the grass cutting or is that there as an incentive to keep folk from going daft?
