EDITED:

Please don't do anything special around David on the day - please drive as normal. We can't take the risk of anything being misunderstood in the heat of a live track.

Also, if you fall off the track and cause a red showing off for the camera, don't be surprised if you don't get back on the track - its that serious an issue guys.

Was that actually me driving David? In fact it was as Adam had spun earlier at the same spot.

Went through at the same speed, but the rain had started again. However no excuse for not catching it apart from the obvious one, and I was straight off again.

I'm going to have a camera on board too, would be fun to get rear facing from David & fwd facing from my car at the same time.

I was planning to run it in a few different positions and get it edited to look like multiple cameras were used ;)

In bed or round Knockhill :damnfunny

Yup - lets not have people Q-ing up for this. Good idea, but potential for it going wrong big style.

In fact i would say, let David pick people up (in the same manner Tut does when he's looking for someone to "play" with) - the R400 should be quick enough to move about without chaos ensuing.

Sounds like a great idea. I'll be running a front facing cam like Jamie too. :)

I would absolutely love some footage of UJI on track, to the extent I even thought about borrowing a suction mount for my ageing DV camera. But decided the time spent dicking about sorting it out etc would be better spent on the track since we have only 2 hours available to us.

But all this...in 2 hours? Think it's CRITICAL that people just drive the day as they would and forget about David (in the nicest possible way).

How many are signed on - 40 cars?

At 2 laps each, that's 90-odd minutes consumed and that's with no mishaps etc.

Think Shug's pointers are really important.

There is that huge risk of following another car (David and his are clearly a strong combo too!) and ending up losing it. Hm...

Absolutely brilliant sentiment though David :thumbsup

Yes, you've got a point. I don't want this to get in the way of 'normal operations'. If things are not working then I'll just up the pace and 'slot in' in front of folk as Andy suggested.

I think it was the right thing to mention, TBH - privacy regs and all that  - but hopefully every one will ignore you, have a ball, then be enthralled by "Knockhill Uncut" some day (I take it you won't have it edited up by the start of the BBQ, LOL!)

Hi chaps,

I'm not going to be at AMP3 but reading whats planned does sound like it could quite easily go wrong or just be a bit confusing. I may be naive to all this but would a plan not be that on the day you grab a number if you want to be filmed. Everyone goes on track as normal but David grabs number 1 in pits goes out for 2 laps then pits, number 1 continues or pits, up to them and David then "picks up" number two from pits. It's your own responsibility to be ready for David when he's ready to go out otherwise it just jumps to the next in the list. Each person baring in mind its an on track vid not a hero in a car vid :)

It just seem like there could be so much more possible "trouble" when people are trying to figure out if they can follow David on a lap or if someone else is there.

If your not looking for that much organisation then David on track "choosing" people to stay ahead of (and him trying to get round as many as he can) would seem better, and when he indicates for you to pass that's your turn up, pass him and he'll pick up whoever is next.

Either way there needs to be organisation or the decision being in one persons hands and the rest just "acting as normal".

Just my 2p, I maybe shouldn't have a say as I'm not be there, I just wouldn't want to hear of anything bad happening.

G
